Brake bleeding question

When opening the front passenger valve and bleeding the rear, does the front valve need to be open more than just a trickle? Also, will a pressure bleeder be ok for this phase or should I pump the pedal? Pump the pedal while I have the pressure bleeder attached?

This is a stock brake system on an '87 with the load sensing valve in the rear.
