Boycott...

Didn't even know Jax Mercantile existed..... so the boycott will be easy for me. No loss!

That sucks. Jax is a pretty killer store. I've only been to the flagship store in Ft Collins once, but it was sweet. They're more like a fancy/better Sportsman's Warehouse. Their hunting/gun section is only a small part of what they do.

Actually sounds to me like they'll still be selling AR's and the like, just no higher capacity magazines.

bummer -- Jax is a great store, with a great military surplus section in the Ft Collins store... ignorance sucks.

Yeah Frank, I did read the article. It says he'll stop selling guns WITH high capacity magazines. They've run out and aren't going to re-ordering. You can buy AR variants that only come with 5 round magazines in the box with them. They're called hunting specific models, most are even offered in real tree or mossy oak camo. There is nothing in the article stating they won't be carrying any specific models of handgun or rifle, just not ones that come with the higher capacity mags.

If a store wants to limit its gun sales to hunting specific applications then thats fine with me, its their business. I don't see you selling Audi, Subaru, or Mitsubishi parts. All three car brands have been used extensively in rally racing programs, a very serious offroad motor sport.

This is one I'll probably have to pass on and still shop there.

Honestly JAX has one of the best selections of anything outdoors, guns, ammo, sport, hiking, etc. etc. anywhere close. Their military surplus section alone trumps most any other, and it even larger than some entire stores.

I like supporting local as well...and their farm & ranch store a little ways further down the road is kick ASS.

Sucks but I know there are quite a few gun enthusiasts that work there and love it.

Oh well :(

Gun regulations will not stop crazy folks with no value for the life of another person from taking the life of another person ... Keep in mind killing people is already regulated by law .

Yep, killing is against the law, Gun free zones are not "Magical" barriers as some people think.

Unfortunately most people who have the agenda to ban simply dont trust "citizens" to carry because they don't trust us, we have power. Sheeple follow what the news media says and people who own "non traditional" hunting rifles aka "military evil looking things" are "Gun nutz" and on the verge of being mass murderers or domestic terrorists.

I liked the JAX in Lafayette, but after this I will not give them one penny of my money.
