im looking into a new jeep, and alot of them have 3" BDS lifts, along with lift shackles, or 4" suspension lift.

is a 3" bds lift with 2" shackle better or worse then a 3" bds with 4" suspension lift. explain please.

bds is a company that sells suspension lifts. you can't put a body lift on an XJ because there is no frame. it's a unibody, it's all one piece. search function is a hell of a tool

the jeeps i was lookin at are wranglers.

ok, that's a different story, should specify a little better next time. Body lifts are cheap solutions with horrible side effects. They do make more room for tires, but raise your center of gravity (that's bad). I personally think body lifts above 1" is a disaster of a choice.

LMAO

You may just get nominated.

NAXJA is a club for Cherokee and Comanche folks, but I'm sure someone here can answer your questions without the Lake Of Fire effect.

Unless they'd care to take a swim themselves...

Right people?

i know it is a xj and mj forum, i myself have both. i simply am looking into a wrangler and thought id ask these folks a question.

I really don't like the idea of a body lift more than an inch. People with 2&3 inch body lifts will tell you about all the issues. Fan /shroud issues. shift linkages, steering column, the list go on & on.

Im putting a 3" body lift on my durango, Crazy? no the big mistake would be to purchase the 5.5" suspension lift. I know that sounds ass-backwords, but i made sure i read the reviews on the Proper forum. Researched everything.

depends on the vehicle. also depends on the forum. a 2.5" body lift is Very common on Wranglers. But a Cherokee forum isnt the best place to ask, Body lifts are a Common funny post around here, next time, make sure you specify the vehicle, or we'r all going to default to an XJ.

nothing wrong with a body lift, but keep it under 2 inches. had a 2 inch BL on my explorer, along with 1.5 suspension lift. i could run 33's with no trimming. You can relocate the fan shroud with brackets, sometimes you will have noticeable gaps with the bumpers/body.
