Re: New rig

I am calling it a successful engine swap have been driving it to work all week and no problems oil pressure is good and the temps wont even get higher then 180.. I need to check the thermostat and see what temp it is and if there is on in there.

Re: New rig

It went surprisingly smoothly I had my time off I took Friday off work and worked from 10 am to 10pm then saturday was the same.. Sunday got rained out and Monday I took the day off work worked 10 to 8... left it for tue to Friday where I started after work from like 5pm to 10 pm then I had it started saturday by 4 pm

Re: New rig

180* is fine. its cold out. if its running over 210* in the summer is when to worry. both of my rigs run under 190* in the winter without the fan on. in the summer they both run at like 210* with the fan on going up the hill to the trails. if you were running hot now id be worried.

Re: New rig

Buy, rent or borrow an IR temp gun. confirm the correct temp before you go on trying to figure out what the stock gauge is telling you.

Re: New rig

Finished the disc brake swap I found out you have to drill the backing plate holes out a little to get the studs to line up. This wasn't in the write up I used but found it in a different one.

After

I stripped the hell out of the cross pin retaining bolt and had to weld another bolt onto to get it removed

Also had a rubbing noise found out on the test drive that the backing plate was rubbing my rotor so i had to hammer it back away from the rotor

I wish i saw this on the write up i followed i found it searching after i finsihed the swap

I wasn't sure how I could hook up my e-brake again but looks pretty simple to add with small u bolts...
