Blown/bent Shocks

I blew out one of my big blinger front reservoir shocks, and bent the shaft on the other one on my XJ at Gilbert MN on Sunday.
When I fully droop, the shock body comes in contact with the "space-aged unichassis" and side-loads the bushing/seals in the shock and caused the blow-out and the bent shaft. Luckily they are both being replaced under the no-bs warranty.
I'm in the process of fabbing up some new lower and upper shock mounts that will have several mounting positions. These will move the shock outward enough to clear the "frame", and also provide mounting locations for straps if neccessary. They will also rotate the shocks so the mounting bolts will run parallel to the uni-chassis, so they can rotate on the bushings instead of side-loading them.
Just curious if any of you have done this. If so, any pics? Cheers!

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but here's my re-done shock mounts:

That's pretty much how the top of mine is set up now. The top mounts I'm making are 4" wide with 3 different mounting holes. I slit and flattened out that little lip on the stock mounting plate to allow the new ones to fit up there. I'll post some pics soon. Otherwise it's kinda hard to describe it.
