Birth Certificate

Natural born US Citizen - as in not "naturalized" - you must be born a citizen of the US and not a citizen of any other country. Ever.

Which in the case of Obamination got shoved out of the spotlight by the media, and never answered.

If you are born to a US citizen then are you not automatically a US citizen?

My wife is German and our son was born a US and German citizen.

I was under the impression that the argument is whether you are considered "Natural Born" if you are born in another country, not whether he is a naturalized citizen or not.

If you are born in a military hospital in a foreign country you are a natural born citizen.

We are talking about the validity of Obama's birth certificate. He never revealed it and therefore may be holding office illegally. The constitution(you have heard of it have you not) specifies he must have been born in the USA. There has always been speculation that he was born in the Philippines. Get it yet jeepcomj???

yes, now I get it.

I followed a link in the original post, that I see is not there any more, that just went to google mail and said nothing about anything.

your son could never run for president unless he gave up his rights to being a german citizen.

you must be SOLELY an american citizen to even be able to run for presidency.

Obama has never produced his birth certificate to any public satisfaction. the only thing he has going for him is that he controls the...erm...lower classes through their mindless devotion to him. basically, if anyone challenged him, all he would have to do is hold a press conference and here we go civil (maybe not so civil) war again.

That said...I think the anti-obama crew would win in a civil war. at least the anti-obama crowd doesn't hold our guns sideways when they shoot ...through superior aim, they would prevail.

hope it doesn't come to that though.

Pretty sure the US does not recognize dual citizenship, the way other countries do. To be a US citizen, you have to denounce your former citizenship....

At least, this is my understanding, being a Security Manager for the USAF and dealing with Secret/Top Secret security clearances every day. You cannot hold a security clearance without starting the process to become a US citizen.....once your enlistment is up, if you have not become a Naturalized US citizen, you cannot re-enlist. We have a case right now with a kid who isn't a US Citizen and they're not granting his clearance until he starts the Naturalization process.

EDIT: I stand corrected. According to the State Dept website, the US does allow for dual citizenship - I guess it's when you go to get a security clearance of some type that they make you denounce other citizenships.....

From what I've always understood about it, America does not allow for dual once you turn 18, basically you have to pick one.
Now take my rug rat for example, he is German and American. When he turns 18 America will basically make him decide which country he wants to be a citizen of, but Germany does not make him do this. So he tells US immigration that he is going to be an American, does whatever he has to do and poof he's full time American. Then he takes a trip to the nearest Germany consulate and fills out some paperwork and poof he now has a German passport and German citizenship again.
My wife is getting ready to do this now. She has to fill out a request and submit it to her consulate if they approve her request she is good to become a US citizen and then get her German papers back too.

Anyhow....

So you do think the south is rising again?

But back to what I said before, I think the main argument about Barry is that some think he was born off of US soil, which some people believe disqualifies him as a "Natural Born" citizen. His mom was a US citizen which automatically makes him a US citizen.

Not sure if that is true....

My g/f was born in S.Korea - dad is US citizen, mom is S.Korean citizen. G/f has naturalization papers....no US birth certificate. She actually lived the first 5 or so years of her life in S.Korea.

My daughter was born in England and has dual citizenship. Her mother and I are both naturalized American citizens. When she turns 18 she must declare her citizenship as she will not be able to retain both.

The south lost the civil war over 140 years ago, but there are still some hanging on to the idea the Confederacy will rise again.

I can't believe no one else has jumped on this.

WTF does the American civil war have to do with wanting to see proof of someones citizenship? Please don't say race.

Was she born in a military hospital or a Korean hospital? I looked it up on State's web site and there are some rules regarding kids being born to parents where one is a citizen and the other is not. The citizen has to be a a citizen for 5 years and something else. It did say something about having to file paperwork for the citizenship or something.

Coastie, it has nothing to do with the civil war. But if you question Barry what other reason could there be except you're a racist.

I was asking him to draw a line between Obama's birth certificate and the American civil war. How does that make me a racist?

I'll just assume your white and that's why.

I don't think you are just seems to be the trend, if you question Barry and your white you're a racist. If you're anything other then white, then you're just stupid.

Again, I just want to say I don't think anyone is racist for wanting to see Barry's birth certificate.

no I do not.

I think that what he does day to day is pissing off enough people that shit's gonna hit the fan.

he has so far proven that he sucks not only as a person, but as a president. he's also proven that he's completely incapable of giving a straight answer, which is just plain unsettling....A man who cannot answer a question to which he should know the answer, WILL lose public support of any intelligent people around him or under his control.

Korean hospital...

Coastie,
You must have just completed that on-line BS training to made the connection. I was NOT referring to race issues. I was inferring some people just don't know when to let it go, it'd over. Another example I use to use at PACAREA with the JOs, "It's like dropping your wallet in a flow of lava, you just got to let it go."

v/r,
Soon to be former ENG4.

MY understanding the way The Constitution was written IRT citizenship for eligibility for holding the Office of President was natural born as on the soil, here in the original 13 and then expanded to all 50, except for those grandfathered in due to being alive at the signing in 1787. I believe it was so that there would be no influenece on our state of affairs from foreign countries.

and not to thread hijack, but that is a problem with illegal immigration and "Anchor babies" they will all be eligible to run for President of the USA with English as their second language.

I get it now, that was just a odd way of saying some people have a hard way of letting go.
