Better fix TC Drop or Shims?

Negative - that's not the only thing you need to buy, you need a new yoke for the TC output as well... the part number is 3103-27CV as I recall. It's actually the major cost (or was to me anyways), costs about $80 from various places.

I decided to do it right the first time and ordered a SYE from advance adapters. The price was not as high as I thought it would be and the ship for free.

You need to know the angles before answering!

I see you ordered a SYE... but the above is the correct answer to your question.

You may get away with a shim or drop, but to do it correctly, you need to measure angles and see what will bring your driveline angles back into spec.

I figured it will probably cost less in the long run, especially if I go higher to get the SYE.

You will need shims to do the SYE - or rather, to get down to 1-2 degrees pinion angle (relative to driveshaft) after installing it. That's the only reason I haven't installed mine yet, I want to make sure I've finalized my lift/suspension changes before I figure out what size shims to get to save on money outlay.
