Best Roof Tent Options for a Jeep Cherokee XJ?

I’m planning some road trips this summer and looking into getting a roof tent for my Jeep Cherokee XJ.

I’ve never owned one before, so I’d appreciate some advice.

I’m mainly interested in something easy to set up, durable in various weather conditions, and comfortable for longer stays.

Are hard-shell tents worth it for an older vehicle like the XJ? Any tips on mounting or dealing with the roof load limit?

I’ll be camping in national parks and some remote spots. Would love to hear your experiences and suggestions!

What are you going to use as roof racks for the tent?

Gutter mounts? Thule? Something else better than stock?

That is the first concern I would have.
