Stihl makes a great chainsaw....

I've got a Poulan and its been going strong for the last 4 years....

both great saws.....look into them....

STIHL!! I run chainsaws all day long. Get a Stihl 026, or an 026 farm boss. That is a really good saw for misc. jobs. If you are going to run a lot and need horsepower, the 036 Pro is the saw to run. It's light and has plenty o power. If anyone says to get a Husquvarna... tell them where to shove it. I have both, well I own both, the husky is ALWAYS broke and in the shop.

Husquvarn (Sorry about spelling), makes a great chainsaw, but they are pricey. My grandfather has had his for atleast 10 years with zero problems and its always been there when I needed it.

Don't get a Poulan, unless you like to take 30 minutes to get it to start.

Stihl.

I have my father's old Poulan. If it wasn't for sentimantal value I'd heave it. It runs, but it costs me an arm and a leg to get it running every Spring. By now it's the world's only $2500 12" chain saw.

Stihl, bit pricey but worth it. I to have a poulan, bought it about 12 years ago at Ft Drum and like eagles every spring I need to pull the carb apart, clean it and then it runs, for a while. The PX had the 15" version for like $150 back then. Stihl though is the way to go for long term low maintenance... Husquevarna or Husky's are also very good, somtimes tough to find a local dealer though at least where I live.

I´ve got a Poulan 12-14" one had trimming, saw that´s been going great for decades. Learned to empty the tank and unhook the plug wire and dry start it, until the carb. is empty before storage. The first start in spring, takes awhile to prime the carb. again.
Have a big 18" Stihl, almost an antique, still going strong. Just about bullet proof.
I bought a Homelite (John Deer), to do a job, while the stihl was in the shop, for a tune up. The Homelight hasn´t finished a full day of work yet, without some kind of serious wrenching. Started sheading parts, from the first day of usuage, overheats when it´s running and bogs.

I have a poulan and so does my Dad. I'd say Stihl is the best, but around here they cost more than a jeep. I haven't had a lick of trouble out of either of our saws. Mine's a 20" and Dad's is 18". I cut about 3-4 chords a year with mine.

STIHL it is then!

they have a pretty good website--lots of models to choose from

each on has a ton of little features...cool stuff

im thinking about the 360 Pro....

going to head over to the local dealer tomorrow.

thanks guys!!!!

When you buy it, ask for a chisel tooth chain. The cutting teeth are square instead of round. They are much easier to keep sharp and last a LOT longer. Whenever we get a new saw, we take the round tooth chain off and toss it. I currantly have 4 036 pro's, and besides keeping the crew from walking away with one, no problems, and my saws run 8 hours a day.

If you look at what the professional tree surgens use you would get a good idea of the best. I did and they use either a Stihl or a Poulan. Those guys use them every day so they ought to know which ones are the most dependable.
