Best dates for Hot Springs?

OK, just got off the phone with the park, and we may want to change from the April 22-24 weekend. Turns out that the event that weekend is a pretty large one with perhaps 100 vehicles. They did say there is plenty of room for more, but some trails may be crowded. Most of those attending the event are not camping so there's plenty of sites for tent camping, with a few RV sites available. They do have a heated (and air-conditioned) shower building, and we can camp on Thursday nite, too.

If we wanted to have the park more to ourselves, May 6-8, 13-15, and 21-23 do not have any large events.

So, who all is still interested in this, and what are your thoughts on the date?

I had tentative plans made for April 23-24, however, I have not scheduled the time off (pending finalization of when).

The May 6-8 date sounds real good to me.

We will be getting home from the Fl Keyes on the 22nd. Probably could not make it that weekend. May might be doable though.

May is okay with me. May 8th is Mothers Day! May 30th is Memorial Day. I suggest we look at one of the other weekends in May. The sooner we pick a weekend, the better. I need to give some notice at work.

Well, since it looks like May would work better for most, and as BOB pointed out, the 8th is Mother's Day, how about the 13th to 15th? Might be interesting to see what happens when wheeling on a Friday 13th :laugh3:

Well John ... Bob ... Ramsey ... I'm scheduling the time off for the weekend of May 13th through the 15th for this trip. I'll plan on leaving Thursday to get down there that evening ... come home the following Monday.

Same here - we will need to call and let them know we'll be arriving Thursday night as the park and campground are normally only open Fri - Sun.
