Before and After

I thought I would post some pix up to give hope to anyone new to XJs. There have been some awesome restoration/builds. Here are a few pix of mine.

It's a 1985, at least that is what it says on the title. So many parts have been swapped, it would be hard to say truthfully what year. When I got it, it was on its way to the dump. It had a hole in the block and was barely able to be towed.

4.7L stroker on 35's, D44 front w/quickloc w/wristed radius arm suspension, D44 rear w/Detroit. Tera2low. All the bumpers, rails, and skids, I did myself along with the body work and paint. Only a couple of people have laid as much as a screwdriver on the rig other than myself. I did this buildup because even with frame plating, I wheeled it so hard that I taco'd the frame.

That's a nice looking rig. I had an 84 the same color when I was 15, except it was a diesel with a hole in the block. I never did put the time and money in it to fix it and then I turned 16 and was anxious to drive so I sold it. It is nice to see someone bring back a cherokee that is technically a classic.

I was expecting more people to post their before and after pix.

I'll play, even though it's not done yet.

Before: 4:56's, 33's, 7"lift, D30 w/ lockright, 8.25 w/Detroit, drop brackets and short arms.

X1994J, did you do the hood yourself? I do a lot of body work and fab and was thinking of doing a cowl induction hood. Yours looks sweet.

i bought it used locally. Fixed it and painted it to match. I do quite a bit of body and paint myself, I've seriously considered using mine as a template and making some to sell. I'd have to get into the fiberglass world, i'm sure it would take some practice.

I guess I'll post it here again-- nothing new, but what the heck, I'm a picture whore!!

this weekend i'm taking it out for its last ride, the body is falling apart from repeated beatings :(. she'll be completely stripped and retired, all the parts are going into a new shell that will be caged and plated fully before it ever touches dirt again.

latest pics I have of her:
