Badlands trip?

So..I know yall are badlands'ed out, but I only get one weekend off a month, and I need to turn in my time off request 30 days in advance!

I was thinking april. Finals are like the second week in may, so I figured we could go before that. But whatever works for yall! :)

Wheeling 24th-25th of April (fri and Sat) at the Badlands offroad park (http://www.badlandsoffroad.com/).
-You can buy a one day pass for $20, or two day pass for $30, plus a $5 a day passenger fee.
-it IS required that you have an orange flag on your truck. If you dont already have one, they do sell them at the park, ($14 for a 1/4" pole w/flag)
-it is not required that your rig meet the official :NAXJA: minimum requirements, however it is strongly recommended. Having the minimum equipment requirements wont hurt you, it can only help you.

We will be camping at Summer's Campground (http://www.summerscampground.com/). There will be a good number of us arriving on Thursday evening to get an early start on friday.
-primitive camping is $16 a day, this includes two adults, and two children. additional adults will cost $8 per person.
-water and electric (1 unit per site) is $25 per day, same $8 per additional adult applies.

I am assuming that people will be staying saturday night at the campground as well for a bonfire of some sorts. There is alcohol allowed, as long as it is consumed in moderation, and stays AT YOUR CAMPSITE! They do not allow it at the pool, or in the Rec Center.

-We will be getting an early start at the park in the morning. We will meet in the parking lot inside the gate at 9:30am to get some trail groups organized, (park opens at 9:00am).

I think thats it....! If there's anything in here I need to change, or anything you want to do differently, let me know and I'll edit the first post as well.

Well like I said on WF forum, I'd be avail after Finals/ School is out... If it happens then I might bring the father with... He wanted to go to WF but hes not good at the camping thing... we'd prob get a hotel...

I may be up for another trip. We tenatively had something planned for the end of April to go to Haspin, but will keep an eye on this thread to see what happens (badlands is much closer).

Yep - those are the dates, if you're talkin bout April, right? I'ld probably be there Fri and Sat if this is a go. I need to talk / persuade the others that want to go to Haspin, and see if I can get them to go here instead - lol.

lol - good question. Winterfest ran orange with no problems, but up for anything. I'm running a rear locker, 33s, and a winch. The other guy I was going wheeling with is running a cj7 on 36s I believe, but will not be pushing it too much.

I know some others were talking about a trip in a month or so as well - my one friend is out with the CJ. He said this is his yearly trip to Haspin, but I may lean towards the Badlands instead since its a few hours closer. I need to talk to one more guy first before I can commit to this trip - should know in a day or so.

April 24th and 25th then? I can be there in 40 minutes so I don't need much advance notice ;) WF was fun but a little overwhelming as far as meeting people and actually remembering their names, so a smaller group would be fun I think.

I'm open on 33s with a winch right now, but should have a locked 44 in the rear by then. Worst case, the guys with opens have to get pulled over a few obstacles.

Haven't been to Haspin yet, if I get a trailer I'd be up for making a run out there some time this spring...

yea...you may have to pull me if we go orange.

What trails did you run.........and I apologize, but i totally forgot your name. I know I met you and josh on sat night at the bonfire.

No worries, I'm terrible with names as well. Alcohol doesn't help. It's in my sig so that over time I will be known as Brad instead of wood bumper guy :)

I ran green on Saturday, didn't know if they'd let me run orange without a locker and figured I could always run it later, but just didn't get around to it.

Yeah, I would like to go, but being stock...i can barely run with Brad let alone someone with lockers...that sounds like hell for me.

Yeah I got enough recovery equipment to assist - winch, com-along, straps, etc. I know there was a few places you could navigate around some of the harder areas.

I planned to run green again but next time i am gonna climb that rock face in the Quarry. I should have did it when everyone else did!

Probably, just let me know. Austin gave me his free pass that he won at the raffle so i am down. I have a couple buddies who want to go. One has a TJ w/a 2in BB and 31's and one has a ZJ on 33's(looks like gene's only smaller and will have his front bumper soon)
