Me, my buddy, and possibly a couple guys from JF are going that weekend. Maybe we could meet up and do some wheeling.

My jeep has a 3" lift and 31's, so i'll probably stick to the easier stuff. That and it'll be my first time out on real trails, so it'll be fun.

Email me at [email protected] or PM me and maybe I'll see you there!

There's 6 of us going the 17th and 18th last count. Most of us are coming up Friday some time. 4 or 5 XJ's, a CJ and a Sammi. We're coming out of the Madison WI area.
I've got a beat-up sky blue '88 XJ on 5"ish of lift w/saggy springs in back and 31" muds. Lots of window stickers for the cool factor and extra 10hp. :laugh3:

If mine is off the stands by then, if, then I'll come down and play for a while.

Awesome. We'll be coming up late friday night, probably taking off around 8. I think it's around a 3 hour drive. So maybe we'll see you Saturday.

Haha, I haven't changed my profile yet. Whoopsies. I'm just Northwet of Chicago now, so thats how I get my 3 hrs. From Minnesota it's be like 8 hours. Thats waaaay to much driving.

Ah, okay. That's about right from where you are now. The nearest place to wheel for me is The Cliffs. That's still about 2 1/4 hrs away. I wish someone with some property and $'s would open a park somewhere in southern WI or near the IL border. I like the Cliffs but even a cherokee is going to have a tuff time if you wonder off the main trails. I found that out the hard way a couple of weeks ago. Lost both rear tail lights and 'dove-tailed' the back end a bit :laugh3: need another rear bumper too.

Anyway, looking forward to a weekend at the Badlands. Haven't been there since Winterfest 05.

I'm planning on that weekend. I can't do the carnage fest, Uncle Sam's calling the 10th-11th. I went last weekend with 31's, and had a blast. Other than the bent steering. And dents. And bent crossmember. I can't wait to do it again!

Where is every one staying? I'll get there Sat morning and leave late Sunday.

I'm staying at the Attica Campgrounds I think. The one that is near the entrance.

Do you guy's want to meet at 9ish at the entrance or somewhere?

Let me know, so I'll know who to wait/look out for.

See you there.

I believe that we're staying at the campgrounds at the entrance to the park. Either way, we'll be waiting for the park to open @ 9am.

Well, it looks like our prez reserved our campsites at the Summer's Campground. I believe that it's just a short ways away from the Badlands.

We will be waiting at the gate for it to open @ 9am.

Hi there Roodki,
Sounded Saturay like you guys has a pretty good time. I hope you felt the same after you washed off your Jeeps -LOL!

Yup, you folks need tow points. Not required by the park, but as you folks noticed, a necessity.
There is a small list of club "required" items around here somewhere, four of them are tow points :) You should also carry a tow strap (no hooks!) worth atleast 20,000 lbs and a 3/4" screw clevis or two. A cheap med kit is on the list I believe, as is a 2lb fire extinguisher mounted where the driver can get to it.

Haha, actually I haven't washed the thing yet. Mostly due to being lazy. I bet it's going to be alot of work. You can see the spots I've been parking in now out in the lot :).

And towhooks are on the top of the list of things I'm going to buy. Hopefully I can scrape up enough money to get some by the end of this month.

I had my tow strap with me. It looks pretty solid. I think it was rated for 30,000 lbs. I picked it up online somewhere for like $30.

I hope to get out there again before it snows. It was lots of fun. More so than I thought it would be. I'm addicted now :).
