not sure what to call this little dinner that i made

bacon melt or bacon grilled cheese

basically a grilled cheese sandwitch with 6 strips of bacon on it pluse some side bacon for that little part of me that loves just plain bacon without any cheese or bread on it

my 4 yr old dog was giving me some puppy eyes while cooking the bacon so i let him have a strip and all the greese is going on his food, he is going to be happy in a min.



as im enjoying this heart cloging meal i cant help but think.................i wonder if i have syrup to put on my side bacon



Edit: syrup has been added to side bacon, and stupid mutt just tride to steal it off my plate

Well, while wifey is in St George , UT running a marathon today I thought I would take this time to show my son about some of the finer things in life...like the BACON EXPLOSION!! so to start things off, I made it as a half order instead of the full blown thing since we are experimenting on cooking it in the oven. The following is a pictorial of this mornings events...it is cooking right now, but I might even take some pics of it when Collin (BIGSLVRXJ) and Jeremy (97Country) arrives

For starters I made the bacon weave and sprinkled on some Rudy's Rub. I grabbed this rub while I was hunting in Texas last week. It is outstanding!

Next I flatened the sausage across the bacon weave and prepared it for the cooked bacon pieces

I covered the sausage with the bacon pieces and then put on some Cookies BBQ sauce. I went with the western flavor due to having a bit more spice to it.

Next was the fun part, I had to get the sausage into a roll while trying to not pull apart the bacon weave. This is the point where I thought to myself.."WWMWCD"? Which stands for "What Would the MidWest Chapter Do" So of course I had to represent!!

And all of this would not have been possible without Case's help...(Yes fools, that is a RUN DMC shirt!)

It was mighty tasty. I can not believe that even Collin and Jeremy had some of it since they are both finiky eaters. It was more of a right of passage for the both of them! I have another photo of it straight out of teh oven and sliced so nicely I will get it posted up this evening. There was a little bit left over and I had it reheated for breakfast yesterday, I will have to say it was much better the first time around.

i cooked three pounds of fresh sliced bacon at work, then i made a grilled cheddar sandwich with a healthy dose of fresh crispy bacon. i had a good morning ill take a picture of my bacon escapades tomorrow
