For those of you that didn't make it to Moab......you missed a great one!

Thanks to Richard, Danno, Woody, Mil, Heather, Remi, Chewy, Mike G and everyone else that I'm missing that worked behind the scenes to make this the greatest NAXJA Event yet.

We had 3 times the rigs show up this year over last year (160-ish at last count) and to pull off this size of an event, it took countless hours of time and the dedication of those planning and organizing behind the scenes to make it happen.
Most don't realize what it takes to run an event like this, it's very much like running a business........only the payoff for those devoting their time and talents comes when everything falls into place and the attendees have a great time.

As this years Trail Coordinator, I want to give a special thanks to all those who volunteered their time and talents to be Trail Leaders.........we had very few "incidents" for a group this size, due to their efforts. Due to the dramatic increase of attendees, we added trail runs on the fly that needed Leaders and I want give a special thanks to all those who stepped up to fill Trail Leader positions at the last minute (you know who you are :) ) and helped keep the operation running smoothly.

I met a lot of new people and had a great time, hope you all made it home safely and I hope to wheel with you in Moab next fall.........if not sooner.

:D

We should all be very proud of and thankful to XJEEPER Jeff and his band of merry elves:

Sorting out trail runs for that many folks of varying capabilities over six days was amazing...way beyond the scope of what most any of us could do. Kudos to the trail leaders and spotters who helped keep the station-wagon trains on the proper paths.

Central to NAXJA events is the Jeeping, and doing the best one can to make it safe and fun for all. In that regard, you and your crews did an exemplary job at Moab 2003...

Thank you very much!

I second the praise about the trail leaders. I ran with Handlebars as leader both days I was there, and he did an OUTSTANDING job of getting everyone through the tough spots. Thanks, Alex!!

Big Thanks

goes to Jeff Turner for the smooth way the trails went. He was very adaptible to the problems that always come up. Also to the people who at the last minute agreed to lead trails. Best trip yet! Danno

Indeed!

This event was top notch! I really enjoyed the addition of the Show-N-Shine! It was really neat to see the diversity of all the XJ's in attendance.

Thanks Mil for taking on the Dinner on your own! That had to be quite a feat!

Richard did a great job with the M.C. duties at the Dinner and Raffle event!

I had a blast leading Steel Bender and Cliff Hanger and had an excellent group of drivers on both trails! No breakage!

Heather and the rest of the crew that built the Giveaway XJ... You guys did a fantastic job! I got the chance to drive it for a while on Moab Rim Saturday. Rides like a Cadillac! Sure was weird to drive a rig that doesn't pop, squeak, snap and rattle like my junk does!

I can't wait to see everyone's picture posts as the week progresses!
