Atlas transfer and aw4 auto

Be sure to post up how that setup does. I really want to do a 231/300, but for only a little extra coin you can get an Atlas and save the potential headaches associated with the doubler.

the atlas is a much smaller overall package as well. i had to beat the crap out of the floor when i clocked the 231 up. thats why i had to remove the prp seats, they would not fit. even the stock seats i put in i had to fab new mounting bases to clear the hump in the floor.

4.88 *10.1*2.7 (is that the aw4 first gear?) ~ 133 :1.

thats not that crazy some yotas are over 200:1.

i mean a granny low with a 6.32 to 1, a 4:1 and a 2.72:1 and some 5.29s and youre at over 300:1.

Yes, but the quoted setup has a magic third pedal on the floor that disengages the driveline when necessary. A 100:1 automatic will drive through 1/2 ton brakes in most instances.

You could either put 1 ton brakes on a 1/4 ton axle or run 52" tires to get around that

The flat shifter area makes a nice place to put my purse, and the shifter holds it firmly in place.

i agree and i have no doubt a 100:1 auto will drive right through it.
i usually put the XJ in neutral for braking on going straight down th steep stuff, otherwise ill drive through the brakes. its the only way for me to slow down sometimes. im stock except 4.88s, its only like 36:1. i cant imagine a 100:1 in an XJ without upgraded brakes.

You should have no problem stopping if you use Vanco brakes up front, the disc of your choice in the rear and Vanco Hydroboost! This works very well for me with the 5.44.

my red p.o.s. has massive f350 discs in front & 3/4 ton discs in rear, along with hydro boost, so stopping should not be an issue.
