Asshat roommate

Next time he goes off, lock yourself in the room. Get him pissed off enough to bust in the door. Two to the body, one to the head. Self defense:firedevil
BAD advice... even if he looks like Shaq, no excuse to use deadly force. Don't incite the violence. You'd still end up going through court and will have that little "mark" on a record. AND you would have to live with the fact of taking a life. NOT as easy as some would make it seem. Even asshats have moms and dads.

If he is that much bigger than him, and the door is busted down, I don't think self defense would be too hard to justify. Yes there are better ways to deal with a problem like this. But if it came down to someone busting in my room and beating the shat out of me, it would be an easy decision.

Don't piss him off, don't bait him, don't antagonize him, be polite, nice and normal. Just don't piss him off enough that he plants something in your room and calls the cops.. just leave and put it behind you.

Best advice yet. Get you and your dog out! Where's your dog when you're not there? You can defend yourself, your pup can't. Get out man. It's not worth it at all.

Yup. I went to the rent place at 8am this morning and told them what was up. They appreciated me bringing it to their attention and the would let me out of my lease. The rest of my roommates have a 30 day eviction notice in the mail as of today.

My dog is pretty much my kid. It chapped my ass when he did this. Im getting a house to myself asap.

I do have a CCW permit and carry a .40 cal glock 23 in my truck and keep the little walther p99 in my bedroom nightstand. I didnt antagonize him. I locked myself in my room to keep away from him and didnt say anything once i was in there.

Oh and for the record, when he said he was gonna bash my face for being a smartass I mentioned how fast the police would be there. He said "I dont give a damn about the police, ill go to jail, and when i get out, ill beat your ass again. Then i said "violate that restraining order and see whose ass is gonna be getting beat for the next 5 to 10 years. He didnt like that too much.

We will see what happens when he gets his eviction notice. Being fresh out of the CCW class makes me feel secure having the knowledge of what is, and isnt, self defense. In this case, being barracaded in my room, with no escape, and my door coming off the hinges at the hands of an enraged, steroid injected football player twice my size...I was prepared to fire, but only to the point of stopping the threat. I dont want to kill anybody.

Good call man! Good luck.

All I have to say is if that was my roomate and he threatend me and touched my dog he would have had my 9mm to his temple. Then I would be asking him to threaten me again. Its one thing to threaten it a total different thing to touch my dog. No one harms one of my dogs.

Where does he play football?
His coach would LOVE to know about this fool's off-field transgressions.
So would the media, if it he plays for UALR.

Unless his Coach is a stand up guy (which is a rarity nowadays) nothing will happen...other than the coach telling him to knock it off. Coach's main priorities are winning records.

Calling the local sports writer might be a viable option...

Once this guy gets his eviction notice it's quite possible he's going to become enraged...be prepared if your still in the house. A swing with a Louisville Slugger to the knee if he breaks down the door could do the trick. Might consider having a friend hang out with ya....backup,witness etc.

Personally i have issues with "cut your loss's and run" type reactions. People need to stand up and defend themselves and their interests. Running away does nothing but confirm (in their minds) that these asshats can get what they want through intimidation.

Now i'm not implying that you take physical action, but some type of action on your behalf is certainly warranted. Stand up for yourself and teach this asshat a lesson.

I agree to a point, but what about being the bigger person? He confronts this guy, or stand up to him, the assbag will win. He'll get exactly what he wants; a confrontation. Sometimes it's not worth it.

Dead guys can't tell thier side......

XJ01,

It sounds like you are in college? If so, the university will have a Lawyer that is there for the students. Go talk with someone about EVERYTHING that has happened to date. They are there and on your side. GO and TALK with them soon, even though you think that its all done and over with. You never know when you will see or have to deal with this kid again. When you do, it's nice to have well documented files and the college on your side.

I see your point....and it's valid.

My opinion is that this guy wont learn a f'n thing until he pays a penalty of some kind for his actions. And someone needs to stand up to him, before he graduates to beating on a woman or child for that matter.

Lets face it...most of us have or will take an arse whooping sometime in our life, i'd rather take it for defending something i believe in.

if it does end up coming down to it, make sure its below the waist. otherwise its attempted murder. even if it is self defense. one 9mil round in the kneecap will stop just about anyone.

sorry, but thats really bad advice. i can see someone being killed in that situation, and it may not always be the bad guy.

Don't be in the house alone again. Get your friends, get your stuff, and get out. You know as well as everyone else here that someones death would be a rather extreme result from this situation. Document everything, have a friend with a video camera there in case soemthing happens. Pick your friends/ roommates more carefully in the future.

That's true, but if it comes down to letting the school or police dealing w/ that assbag, and him getting him and his dog out in one piece. Call me a coward, but I take the high road. Believe me, I'd be tempted to "bust a cap" if he messed w/ my dog. Oh well.

Taking the high road is not being a coward. In many respects it is harder and takes more restraint. I respect that. You are not giving in. Until you have shot somebody you don't know what it is like. Avoid it if you can.

Matt

I dont see this getting to the point of anyone getting shot. I really pray that I never have to pull the trigger on another human being. But that doesnt mean Im not prepared to. I also never expected him to get so upset about a dog. Im a relatively small guy (especially compared to him).

I had an ass beating back in highschool for standing up to a bully and i dont regret one second of it. I dont see the need to go through that again if its avoidable. I think he really has a serious problem with me and is trying to use the dog against me.

The eviction notice is coming. After I went in there this morning and told them what is going on, the rental company contacted the Russellville PD and got some info on past police reports when parties have been busted over here. Thats enough to evict everybody. However, the lady was very happy I came in first thing in the morning so they are "making a good note" in my file in case a future rental company contacts them as a reference it will not show anything other than bills paid on time, every time. When the eviction notice shows up, I have already found a house and will be prepared to move in ( i put a deposit down today). So, he can throw all the fits he wants. As far as anyone knows, the rental company found out from the Russellville PD about our parties and they "evicted" all of us. (except me but they dont know that). Until then, im avoiding him as much as possible, my dog is outside temporarily to avoid any more confrontations, and im spending my free time elsewhere.
