So if anyone was wondering I wouldn't offer to help this girl out again ever. I have tried to be nice and tried to offer a hand a couple times now.

Previously it was just her saying she needed help and I offered and she never responded then she would come back again with another post saying she needed help again. This time it got to the point where she emailed me asking for information. I'm like here's my number call me to get my address and set up a time to meet no response so I email her again just to double check and again no response so never again will I ever offer to lend her a hand!

It just ticks me off when someone is willing to give up there time to be nice and you get blown off like that!

Maybe she is weary of people she has not meet. Understandable this day and age. Or maybe someone she knows offered to help. Who knows. I will continue to offer the shop to people and offer to help. They ahve to coem here though. All my tools and stuff are here. :clap:

I'm with Glenn, there are a boatload of wierdo's out there and she is a young lady. She is probably leery of strangers. Posting and wanting help and then not responding in some way is a little rude but thats the way folks are these days.

Just as she is leery of getting help from strangers, I'm the same way giving help to strangers. Thats why I never post up on this forum to lend help unless they are a local and I know them. We use our local forum for that. I would rather not compromise my families safety in any way. Since I have a teenage son and a young adult son I'm often around young girls and I make it a point to never be alone with any of them. You never know what you will be accused of so I make sure there are always another person around.

I agree with BA here.

I also agree with being weary of strangers too, but I also assume there is a certain amount of trust established with dealing with someone on this forum. It's not like this is craigslist or the newspaper.

If this was a trust issue then she should've PM'ed the people she trusts and not start a tread.

I just think she doesn't log in that ofen and may have over looked the offer

I feel I need to defend myself, or at least explain myself better.

Let me start by saying I am not comfortable as a woman going to some guy's house that I've never met. In this day and age, you never know what could happen.

Also I prefer not to use the highway/interstate due to a vision issue.

I'm sorry some people can't accept this, but that's how it is. If you aren't willing to come to me, then it likely won't work out.

Why post on a public forum? Well, sad as it may seem, I don't really have anyone else to ask.

Also, I do not always respond as promptly as I should, and for that I am sorry. I don't always get on here every day so I don't always see pms until a few days later, as was the case here.

I apologise if I've ticked anyone off on here; I can assure you that was not my intention.

From my point of view, it's unfortunate for me that I happen to have a lot of "guy" interests-- cars, video games, electric guitar -- but I'd much rather be playing with cars than Barbie dolls.

Oh and just to add, I had someone come out today and he got everything hooked up and installed for me. He works at sears and helped me when I got my cordless screwdriver and offered to come out and give me a hand.

Glad you got it worked out. Like I said always welcome here. If you happen to go to the beach some time and go by way of 151 you will go right by the shop. Let me know and you can stop by and break up the trip. If not I hope we can get together some time in URE.

HMMM seems weird to me you would rather trust a dude that you just met at sears then someone in these forums.

I understand you may not get on here everyday but there was a day clearly stated and if it were someone offering me a hand I would make it a point to state before that date either way if I were coming or not.

I am not opposed to helping anyone. But if I get played around with I wont offer to help again.

But either way I don't want to turn this into a huge argument just thought for the sake of a lot of the other kind people on this site who are always offering help and lend a hand that they deserve to know what happened.
