Anyone up for a pancake rock run?

It's all good...I have a snatch strap and a leadfoot.

I have a snatch... oh wait, also a towstrap . I ran it dead stock in a 90 XJ with a D35 rear axle 3 years ago as a complete noobie to anything beyond sandy washes. This time I'll be "upgraded" to a '98 with an 8.25, rockrails & skidplates, though running the exact same 235/75/15 BFG AT's that I bought the day before that run 3 yrs ago--yep, 3rd XJ they've been on!

I think it's off Lyons Valley Rd, a little south of Alpine. We can pick a spot in Alpine to meet up (I'll consult with a friend that lives out there & see if he has suggestions...).

hrm...i would be down...my ZJ is seriously stock tho...besides BB and 31s...

anyone have any pics?

You're fine. It's mostly just a fireroad with a few rutted spots and a couple of rocks in like 2 spots. A lot of it you can by pass. A few optional things. There's a Moab sized giant rock you can drive up. If you go farther down past the big rock, there's a little playground. To newbs and stockers it can be a little challenging in some places. Can I ride bitch with you Carol? :D Or maybe I'll take the Integra.

Fixed it for you carol.. I don't know you but i think you like a good joke..If not i'm sorry

we could take either one...id like to get the driving experience i guess

how long is the trail? like how long would it take us to run it?

It's about 2 miles maybe? You should be able to have an early lunch at the top of the trail, and then turn around and come back down. That's what I've always done.

You can ride as my bitch any time, Mike =). I owe you!! And if you wanted a challenge, you could see if you can borrow my son's lifted '90 2WD XJ... that also likes to burble fluid out of the closed cooling system bottle...and has no recovery points.

And yes, that's my beloved (now CarBQue :bawl:) white 90 XJ in these http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikedashg/sets/72157603502339204/ pix...

Very nice, Scott, and good call about my humor... but unlike a strap-on, my snat....well, it's always with me =)

so we'll be out there like 2-3 hours?

That's probably not enough time. Just thinking about the amount of people, who and the vehicles. It would be plenty of time for me round trip without playing. But you guys should be to the top by then. Maybe some time to play if you guys go further down past the rock. Then you gotta turn around and come back.
