Anyone talk to Terry at Rigidco lately?

Finally got approval to go ahead and order a front bumper for my MJ. I've been trying to get in touch with Terry via the phone numbers posted on his website with no luck whatsoever for the last few days.

I sure hope he's still around as I have been salivating over their products for a long time.

I don't know but I gave him a $200 deposit for both a front and a rear bumper in January. I have spoken to him 4 times and had great informative conversations but, in each of the 4 calls I made I would ask him to get in touch with me when the bumpers were ready, no custom work just that he was behind on orders. I offered to pay the full amount but he didn't want the money until they were ready to ship, OK I would say "get in touch with me".

Weeks would pass and I'd call and get the same thing. He did come through when i asked him to send me the mounting bracket/steering brace, I needed the brace and had the deposit sent so he obliged. Two months later and still no call.

I honestly don't know what to think about the situation, I really like the products he produces, his info over the phone is great and I understand the high demand he is under but its been over 8 months. I decided to call up Bob at TNT and will buy his bumpers instead. Hopefully Terry will take back his mounting bracket/steering brace and refund my deposit.

I just (middle of August) sent him my deposit for his FBG front bumper and the rear bumper and he said I'd see the bumpers by the middle to the end of September. I'm in the military and am taking leave to do some way over due work on my heep so I really hope that they come in by the end of Sept, like he said. My leave ends on the 23rd of sept. ......I really like the idea of being able to move the winch from front to back or putting it inside the jeep so as not to be stolen in Washington D.C. great looking bumpers he has.


TNT is TNT Customs. they make a few lift kits and skids for the xj. never seen other products from them, their web site never works for me for some reason. i'm sure they have more products though.

I sure hope I can get through to him. I want the FBg myself. For exactly the same reasons. I was hoping to get this ordered and underway for a birthday delivery for me but it doesn't look likely at this point. I wouldn't mind a month or two wait.

yeah, i know, a month isnt too bad of a wait. I hear he may have health issues though. and possiably a lack of help, but i'm not sure. hate to spread rumors though. :gag:

If it were me, I'd be getting in touch with his local Better Business Bureau. Eight months doesn't sound like being behind, it sounds like 'theft by deception'.

Thanks for the heads up, if I'm ever in the market for something he sells, he won't be getting any of my business.

Terry is a good guy.he does take his time i will say that.he is also retired and does this out of his garage as a hobby.his son that used to help him is off at school now getting his enginering degree.so he is very short handed

i can understand waiting 8 months is a bit long.i know i waited a good 3 or 4 months for mine.

i have also heard of him having health issues so that could have something to do with it taking so long and not being able to get ahold of him.

I talked to him in the spring and there is no doubt in my mind that he is a good guy. If his health is bad I wish him the best of luck in getting through it and getting back to building bumpers!

I sent in my $100 dollar deposit a couple months ago for a rear bumper. Terry told me it was going to be awhile before it would be finished, so I asked him to refund my deposit.

I had a $100 check from Terry within 48 hours.

Now I'm having Aj's Offroad Armor building me an even better one, and I'll have it within a month.

If he is having health issues I extend my prayers and wishes to him for a speedy recovery. I have not asked him for a refund so if any of you guys get a delivery in the next month, I'll swing by and get my bumpers!! J/K

I have found that emailing him is the best way to contact him.

I have been after him months to customize the brush bar on top of the FbG front bumper...he finally sent me pics of something he fabbed up for another customer but it wasnt to my liking....

I was hoping to put a warn/arb/trailready brush bar on top of his FbG design, but he said he wouldnt be able to do it because he was so backed up with regular orders right now....

i've been calling him for the last couple of days now, and emailed him twice. Finally, today (Sept. 6th) at 4, i had a voicemail from him. Im on the east coast, so i'f i'm not mistaken, thats 2 in Utah, which is where he is located right? Anyways, i called him back, hasnt called me back yet. I'd be willing to wait, if it werent for the fact that i have no bumper on my jeep, and havent for the past month, because i totaled it in august. We repaired it, but this means that my jeep isnt inspected, and I have to have it inspected before october, or it is a $250 fine, and then my vehicle is flagged after that. I may be asking for my deposit back and frantically searching for a stock bumper to throw on there until i can find a suitable bumper i like.
