Lost my key to my '00 XJ. Has transponder so the best price so far is ~$200 for a key if they drive to my house. Anyone know of anyone that might be able to get me a better rate?

Thanks =)

They are closed today, any idea on how much one of the local dealers will charge? I'm wondering if I should wait (if its cheaper to do it at a Stealership), or if I should just use my insurance's roadside assistance (covers up to $100) and have a locksmith come out to the house and cut one for me.

See if you can get a better deal if you bring in the glove box door.

Had to get keys for when I first got black jeep

They used the glove box door to cut new keys.

I used this AAA place on SE portland and it was 50 bucks for one key.. For an 88 (No transponder)

Iv got burned with cheap keys That don't work right. I use the key guy in the 145 and Divison parking lot (Scotty's locksmith or something) iv never once had an issue with his keys

$15 to $ is about right if you have a key code they should be able to get the code from your vin# the headach is the programing the chip into the computer.if you go to the dealer and get your code get the pin# also. the dealer may charge you around $10 for the code and pin#.If you were closer we do it with a code at the shop for $68. good luck.
