Went by the AAA office today to renew my membership. Guy asked me if I wanted an insurance quote. What the heck, why not?

They quoted me $844/year for 100/300 (required by my work), $500 deductible, and full comprehensive coverage. He also said that my modifications would not be a problem.

I've been with Mercury for about 10 years. I'm paying about $1000/yr. for 100/300, $500 deductible, and liability only.

It's only $156 difference, but the full coverage would be the kicker. Mercury has treated me well over the years with my accident in 2000 and my rollover in 2006. Just wondering about the quality of service that AAA provides.

we've been with them for about 6 months. also have full coverage. They're pretty good.

We HAD our previous provider for almost 10 years, but they raised our rates through the roof due to an accident. couldn't afford it.

so yeah, I'd say I recommend them. -Brian

I had AAA when I first got my license and car as a teenager. I was under my parents policy and the rate were good. I had some tickets and accidents and had good service. Once I turned 18 I had to get my policy and the rates were outrageous.

Long story short, I got a quote a couple years ago and it was better than what I was currently paying. I signed up and got renters insurance and now homeowners with them and save with the multiple policy discount. So yeah, they are pretty good. :)

With AAA they quoted me $1000/year for full coverage on my jeep and street bike, not bad I'm just waiting for my current to expire before I make the switch

Haha Johnny this is funny, I recently switched from Mercury to AAA and saved quite a bit, all while adding the MJ, AND renters insurance to my policy.

I made the switch because when I decided to cage my XJ, I started contacting insurance companies, and learned Mercury will NOT cover anything with an aftermarket rollcage as they view it as a race car. AAA was the only reputable company I could find that would.

Not to mention, I have liability only on the MJ, and during this whole process with the chick who hit me on New Years, AAA has been fighting their insurance with me, and guiding me along the way on how to sue the other driver for damages.

I inssure a Bike, a Baja, a Race Jeep, a 3/4 ton Dodge, small honda comuter, the wifes Infinity and the motorhome for about 2,400 a year thru AAA. Only the Infinity is Comprehensive though.
It's about an extra 5.00 a month each to add comp to any of the others...

No complaints about tripple A here.

Cool, thanks for all the comments. Looks like I'll be switching to AAA when my current policy is up on May 19.

you will Never get better service!

I hit a mirror on another 1ton PU (mine and thiers stick way out) and AAA paid for a new one for me, no deductable.

I picked up a rock to the windshield, AAA pays 100% to get it fixed (that inj sealer crap). it last about a year and then the ding turns to a crack. AAA pays 100% of a new windshield.

I got a ticket for speeding. They never called me on it. I get another in about a yr and a half, never effects anything.

Down side. Every year you have to fill out a mileage report for them to adjust the rate as per anual mileage.

Do it. you get your home owners also and you save 10% more as well as even better service.

Well, a conversation with Cal is what stemmed my research, he told me that Mercury will not cover my XJ once it was caged, his dad used to own a body shop and dealt with Mercury many times. So I called them, and sure enough, they won't cover it. My coverage was almost up anyway, and I started calling around. Geico was through the roof, and couldn't give me a straight answer on the cage, Progressive won't cover it, I didn't check esurance, 21st won't cover it, so I called AAA on Cal's recommendation and low and behold she told me it won't be a problem at all, add to that the rate was ridiculously lower than my Mercury bill was. The switch was easy. Knowing I have one of the largest insurers in the country helps the peace of mind as well, they'll stand behind me if I need them to.

I have Allstate. No problems at all insuring my rig with no top or doors. (and a cage).

AAA insurance on both cars, both bikes, and the house. Not to mention the AAA Plus... We have been with them for over 12 years with no complaints. I did look around about 2 years ago to see what I could find. Geico, Progressive, and Mercury. None of them could come close to what we pay. Progressive would not even quote me once I said I had AAA.

Be sure to ask for all discounts - good student, alarm, garaged, renter/homeowner, etc...

I have been with AAA for about 12 years or so, in that time I looked into a few other places, Geico, progressive etc and they could never come close price wise, never a complaint with my service, and gotta love the mini dmv there, haven't been to the actual DMV in a while haha.

I've been with AAA for 15-20 years and they have treated me very well. When I had my 88 MJ that I bought new a lady pulled out in front of me from a residential street and just stopped, missing her on the wet street sent me skidding into a telephone pole totaling my poor MJ, and she left the scene. A delivery driver witnessed it and gave a statement with her plate number and AAA handed me a check for $6500 for a 7 year old modified stripped MJ that only cost me $10,550 new.
I've noticed that none of the other insurance ads compares their cost to AAA.

perfect timing of this thread....I just got off the phone with AAA for an insurance quote and wanted to get the same type of feedback here about liftd/mod'd rigs.

Ive been paying $1439 per year full coverage on both vehicles with Mercury. AAA just quoted me $1443 per year full coverage at $500 deductible, $1221 at $750 Deduct, and $1193 for $1K Deductible

We r at 1985$ for me and wife with 100$ ded on a 30ft travel trailer, and 01 diesel excursion, then 500$ ded on a 08 toy sequoia and a 06 kis sorento all with fill coverages and 500/mil. But that's with home owners too discount.
