anyone have 2 free wheels and tires

Hey guys,
I am building a utility trailer and I am using my old D35 for the axle. I am looking for some old beat up wheels and tires that someone might have sitting around in the garage that they might want to donate to the cause.

I am looking for stock cheesy wheels that no one wants.

Thanks,
Dan

Those should go great with the trailer as the xj will be on 33s. Is there any tread left, at least enough for a trailer? If so, I'll maybe have Big Red drop them off to me on his way to get his to pick up his axles:)

THANKS!

I think he is heading down at the end of the month or first of April to get his axles in S.D. Maybe he will chime in.

Hopefully in early April, 1st weekend. I will have to see how Ryan is doing and if things go as planned.

That would be great! Thanks! Let me see if I can bribe BigRed to make a few stops for me on his way down to this next of the woods.

Hey Troy, you taking bribes?

I've got 4 Wrangler Sahara Wheels (OD green). Yours for the taking. Not to mention two sets of 8 lug wheels if you want to go "extreme duty".

Hey Crash. That actually sounds like a great offer. Can I take three of those wheels off of you (I can use one for a spare)? Where is forest Hills anyways? Maybe I can plan a road trip next month and pick them up.

Thanks everyone for offering up your spare stuff. I will do a trailer buildup article so you can see what your spares went into.

I'll see about picking up those tires then too if Troy can't stop by in April.

THanks again! Dan

You can have all 4, and while you are here, you can check out my version of an off-road trailer. Fiberglass and steel structure, 33x9.50's, XJ rear springs, removable glass fenders, pintle hook. It works really well.

Foresthill is 14 miles east of Auburn, off of Interstate 80.

Sounds good. I'll take all 4 off of you. No problem for a road trip. Wife can go widow shopping in Auburn.

Maybe I can get some ideas off of you with your trailer. I would like to see how you set up the pentel hook.

I am planning on extending a 3.6' x 4' trailer 8 inches and weld on new purches for the D35 and XJ springs. Should be interesting.

Thanks again!

wiNdow shopping maybe? :laugh3:

are you planning on using this as an offroad trailer? if so I wouldn't use a D35, use a beam axle or something without the diff hanging down.

Yeah window shopping. Must be projecting or something.

I am using the D35 because I have one. It is free. It is the same bolt pattern as the XJ (swap tires if needed). I have the springs already. I have NO money to spend right now so the free factor is what is driving the build. I have the square tubing that I am extending the frame with so it should be just the cost of the bolts/U-bolts, and misc. stuff.

If I had money, I would do a beam but since I don't, my 35 will work for now.

You could always take the ring gear off and do a SERIOUS shave job. :D
