Coming out from california .
August 19 and or 20th at windrock in my buddy joshs rig who lives in oak ridge. He is on 35s, 44/9” , 4spd atlas , stroker, etc .

Is anyone going to be at windrocks these days?

It looks like that is a Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm not sure of anyone going those days right now but they there is plenty of time to make plans.

I live very close to Windrock, I’d probably be up for taking a day off and going riding.

OK that would be cool if it works out .

any recommendations on trails to run? im watching lots of YouTube videos trying to figure out where to start. what's reasonable for a day run, and another day run?

Hi Jon! If I had time I'd love to come join you, I'm about 2 hours away from there.. but way too busy this time of year.

Dude long time no see!

When did you end up moving out there? I had no idea.

For the windsock thing -
Leaning towards both days at this point in time.

Anyone have a good list of trails to hit? Traisl 22 and 27 to start off and just go from there?

For a Jeep on 35’s, if he’s looking for a challenge, 15, 38, 39, 46, 16, 75, 35, 82, 90 are all solid options.

15 is easy access right off the gravel road. 38 and 46 are right past the exit of 15 so they’re good to do together.

39 (Cadillac hill) is kinda off by itself. Run it from the side of G39 where it’s furthest away from 40 to run it forward. It’s got a little bit of everything. Rock climbs, muddy ruts and a big long rock crawl at the end (Cadillac hill). I’d definitely recommend having another Jeep with you on this trail.

16 is probably the longest of them all. Used to be a “Jeep badge of honor trail” so it was usually doable by a slightly modified Wrangler, but they removed it because the ruts got so bad. If he likes body panels and mirrors, he will need to be careful in some spot because there are some nasty ruts, but plenty doable without damage if you’re careful.

75 (Walden ridge) is down highway 116 just a bit but arguably has the best views at the park on a pretty day. You’re wheeling on the peak of a ridgeline for the first 60 yards or so, so it can get nerve racking for someone who’s afraid of heights, but you’re completely safe unless you just get stupid with it.

35 is a good medium challenge trail. We’ve taken Jeeps on 35’s up it no problem, but has several lines to choose from to make it a little more challenging. You access the entrance to 35 from black top, off Big Mountain Road.

82 is down off G37. It’s a little ways past 15, and would be good to do after 15 or 22. Enter it from the side closest to Trail 45 to run it uphill. It only has 1 obstacle that would be considered hard and it’s at the beginning.

If he’s looking for less of a challenge, 22, 26, 27, or basically anything blue will be fine.

Thank you , this is very helpful. I will do some research on these trails then. This gives me a good starting point.

Im horribly afraid of heights ( Ive been to MOAB and Sand hollow and both scared the crap out of me , haha, Rubicon , Fordyce, Dusy , all the sierra nevada trails, dont seem to bother me that much)
