anybody got a tool to adjust the end caps on an 8.25?

Man that's weird, two Colorado people took their 8.25's apart recently and don't have the tool, hope trouble doesn't come in three's!

Do you not have any way to pick up the tool?

Where are you located?

Wow, I'm in and out of your neighborhood all the time. That's good to keep in mind.

I'm in castle rock, I can drive the GF's vehicle just need to shower and degrease.

I didn't think I'd need it, I (wrongly...) thought I could pop the carrier out and back in without messing up the adjustments like i've done with my old D44.

So whats wrong with your axle Philip?
I borked it :o

I really have no idea, I put the whole thing back together and the spiders are making a click click click sound. Nothing is missing or out of place so I don't know.

Any chance you accidently put both thrust washers on one side gear?

I don't remember touching any thrust washers actually. I wasn't going to touch the spiders at all but I was putting one of the axles in and it pushed them out so I had no choice, I didn't see any thrust washers but I also didn't see it come apart either.

thrust washers were firmly stuck to the spiders, everything looks OK but I put it back together and it seems less clicky, going to put the cover back on and pump the fluid in and go for a test spin.

alright figured out the click click click, one of the spider gears has a little bit of play in it on the cross shaft, the clicking is the spider sliding up the cross shaft and hitting the carrier, that can't be good, but also at speed the spinning carrier should keep it in place too, doesn't explain why it wails like a banshee at anything over 30 MPH unless I screwed something up on the carrier install.
