GSP was greased during the fight. The UFC is now setting new regulations to prohibit the use of grease by corner men.

Because of the grease applied to St.Pierre's Body the Nevada State Athletic Commissionâs executive director, Keith Kizer has stated that the Penn-St. Pierre fight "definitely wasnât fair."
"In order for Mr. Penn to properly execute Brazilian jiu-jitsu or the many other grappling techniques which are an essential part of MMA, it is necessary that an environment exists without any illegally applied lubricants, oils or other substances that cause or result in slippery surfaces on the combatants," -Penn Letter
To the untrained eye the grease might not look like much, but every grappler knows the effect that it has. Being able to apply your submissions and sweeps or just being able to hold on to your opponent to defend yourself from being hit is absolutely critical! -Penn Complain

it was brought up during the fight, the commission even had the 'vaseline' wiped off WHEN it happened.
jesus, Penn took a beating, not being able to 'execute BJJ' is one thing, but if he never had the chance whats the point of carrying this one?

And it was only rounds 3 and 4... so Penn got worked in rounds 1, 2, and 5 fair and square. They're pretty sweaty and slippery in the later rounds anyway.
