Any Non religious people here?

To think a thread on a jeep forum is a place where an intelligent conversation could take place between religious/antireligious types is obsurd.

This whole thread is worthless. Ruined long before i chimed in.

Why couldn't Jeep folks have an intelligent conversation about any subject?

We come from all walks of life, I met a professor of geology at a fall fling and I met some people that have barely finished school. There are some snooty well heeled people here as well as some bottom feeders. It takes all kinds.

did you know that DOG spelled backwards is GOD? what if the tail chased the dog. Does god have a tail? I just blew my own mind.

slurpee

What rocks are you talking about exactly....and what invisible ink? Perhaps you can point out exactly where this info came from?

Google "Seerstones" and Joseph Smith.

What a waste of bandwidth to be discussing religion a Jeep oriented forum. We all see the out of doors as a great place to be so lets just leave it at that. Some think it was created by GOD while others think of it as a huge cosmic random event. Maybe it is both or neither one or even something entirely different. We have no way of knowing so lets just live the best lives we can and hope for the best. We may be better humans for those actions anyway.

I think it was a fun exercise. I may not agree with the religious guys but it doesn't mean I don't like them or enjoy a discussion on the matter.

Yeah. I like to hear where other people are coming from, and sometimes I just like to debate stuff, and this is one of those topics guaranteed to get a good debate, so long as the participants stay civil like 99.4% did this time around. :D

This is probably the only thread on the subject that has lasted. I am digging it. Hardly a waste of bandwidth.... quite entertaining.

We've only scratched the surface - this has way more potential. We can start asking about magic underwear, enlightenment, messiahs, missing books, Mary Magdaline being Jesus' wife.....

Haha, that was good :roflmao:

You've been watching/reading a wee bit too much DaVinci Code...;)

Don't need to, I've read the Book of Mormon and have a testimony of it. As I said before. If you want to learn more about the something, shouldn't you go to the source?

Reading Karl Marx does little to better my understanding of the US Constitution.

Does one call the Chiropractor when they have a sinus infection?

"We've only scratched the surface - this has way more potential. We can start asking about magic underwear, enlightenment, messiahs, missing books, Mary Magdaline being Jesus' wife...."

It's a summary of all things of a religious nature.

Lump it all together, briskly stir and dump it in a pile.....then stand back and mock it.

Actually, I've never seen that movie....or read the book.

...however, Angels and Demons was a great book.

And damn me to eternal life in the ground for mentioning possible valid points that get everyone's panties in a bunch!

You are both right - everything written in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon is 100% indisputable fact. Shame on me for looking outside the box and bringing up other (possible) facts....

There's no record of Mary Magdalene having been Jesus' wife except for in a couple disputed writings, that in and of themselves can't agree on the issue, and then a few books written almost 2000 yrs after the fact.

Interesting conversation this morning with our company IT guy. Really nice guy.

He's a Trekkie. LOVES Star Trek, oldest son's middle name is Kirk, getting his son a command crew t-shirt for christmas etc.

He's a creationist, and can't get into the Aliens films because it doesn't fit with scripture.

Makes perfect sense.

Well we all know Trekkies to be weird anyways.

Technically, by his logic he shouldn't be a Trekkie. It doesn't fit with scripture either. :D
