Just picked up a mountain bike, looking to start riding and find some people to ride with and find some trails to ride. I have checked on evma.org but didnt see many local trails, hoping someone knows of some mpre.
I got a custom 26er Full Suspension I built last year. Also have another 26er hardtail in the garage I built 2 years ago that I dont ride anymore. I generally do a lot of mountain biking here but its been raining for the past 3 weeks straight and the trails are off limits due to all the mud.
Specs: Manitou Black Platinum front fork with lockout, Manitou rear air shock, 17in alum frame (just prefer smaller frames for more jumping etc), 27 speed shifter, hayes hydraulic disc brakes, WTB tires
Nice looking bike. I havent ridden in probably 15 years, (I think I just realized how old I am) but I cant wait to get out and hit some trails again, and probably find out how good my medical coverage really is.
Its a lot of fun, Ive been exploring the bmx side of mountain biking as of lately though and have been bombing it around campus. I think I need to rebuild the front shock as it no longer locks out the springs. Too bad you weren't closer we got a bunch of nice trails around the CLT area.
Hopefully I wont have to worry about rebuilding anything for a little while. Yeah, that bad thing about VA Beach is it looks like we dont have a lot of sanctioned trails close by
This is an old picture but I ride a Klein Palomino with full XTR components. Its got eggbeaters and different tires right now. Weighs in a a whopping 23lbs for a full suspension and is brutally efficient.
