Hi Bill, those chains don't really fold up, there is a stiff cable that acts as a "frame" on inner side of the chain assembly. Coil up would be a more accurate term. They coil up into a flattish, round carrying bag that weighs about 50 lbs. They have a unique installation method that makes them SUPER easy to install, their website would be the best way to see how it works.bburge said:

They are expensive, $180 for one pair. Then one time I needed them it was worth every dollar spent! I drove down this hill only to find out it was a dead end. I could not get back up, all 4 tires would spin and send me into a rut at the side of the trail. The chains went on pretty easily, allowing me to crawl back up the hill without spinning a single tire the whole way. This was before I had a winch, nobody in my group had one either. Even if we did have one, it would have been more work to use it than the chains as it was about 1/8 mile from the bottom to the top.
Even now that I have a winch, those chains go with me on any snow wheeling trip.
