Another newby to NAXJA and XJ's

So in January '99 they went from composite to cast? I'm trying to figure out what I have before I buy new rotors.

Theres a way to tell just by looking at them, the "hubcentric part" is longer on one of them but i cant remember which, theres a detailed thread on here somewhere (im at work and can't see pics, ill PM ya a link when i get home)

sorry for the hijack, and Welcome new guy !

Yeah, well, all I know is that all 0331 castings had the bungs cast for the coil pack bolts. Jarrad's and Mark's 99s both have the high flowing intake, but not the cast in bungs so they still must be 0630s... Does that seem logical???

yes... the 0331 is mainly a poor casting issue other than anything, same crack, same place, same time... just like toyota with the late 80's and early 90's truck v6's and 7mgte motors, wrong factory torque specs led to blown head gaskets at 90k same issues, same place, same time ;)

What are the pros and cons of a '97 5spd XJ or automatic? Is it only driver preference or is there an advantage one over the other?

driver preference, the 5spd trans is an ax-15 and its a stout 5spd, i had one in my last trail rig and beat the snot out if it, well maintained it should provide a long reliable life.x
