Look for 96-01 Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer. They came with GT40 P heads and Cobra intake stock. 240 hp with 300 + lbs. They are smaller then small block chevy. Weigh about 50lbs more then 4.0. Plus the motor uses Mustang parts so your options for upgrades are insane. It will run off you stock fuel pump no problem. I swapped one in a YJ 3 years ago. It was pretty nice. Transmission AOD, AODE or E4OD. I am sure about the stock Explorer Trans it might work. Just have to come up with a better Tcase. I know Advance Adapters makes one for the AOD to Dana 300 (should still work with 231). Not sure what Trans is in the Explorer. It cost me about 1000 bucks to put one in the YJ. But that was a 5 speed. Those motor stock with cam swap and bigger injectors push 300hp. And they are reliable. My car has well over 100k and had a blower on it for 2 years stock bottom end. You pull and pay sells the motor for about 250 bucks. So if they have V8 one you could walk out of there with motor, trans, wiring for under 500 bucks. Just have to be quick cause the Mustang guys come and take the heads and intake right away.

I think same deal with 4.6L Ford. They are a lot wider then Bowtie V8. My wifes Lincoln has the DOHC 4.6 and that thing looks like big block it is so wide.

Duel overhead cam w/4 valves per cylinder will make it look like that!! My Cobra has the same heads! Awesome flow too!eace:

Oh yeah the Terminator was the machine I took to the strip and ran 12.2 at 115 mph on street tires. My 5.0 with the Paxton ran 12.15 at 122 mph on street tires and was still spinning at 75 mph. With slicks either car would have been in the 11s easy.
