Am I at the Pirate Board?

is possibly the best board I have ever been on and I am even going to become an official member next month. I enjoy the quick responses, the good ideas and suggestions, and the overall feeling of working and playing together. But lately, at least in the SC, the mood has changed and a more Piratesk feeling has entered the board. I am surprised that a new thread like "newbie fawkers look here" has not been introduced yet and any question or reply that isn't hardcore or slightly off topic results in 5 to 20 replies back an forth about who should shut up, who should shut up back, and who should double shut up.

Now I am not a big everybody get along type of guy. I actually like a little conflict and a little trash talk because for me, that is always fun. But man, it is getting harsh. Now I am familiar with getting ****ed or annoyed with someone and usually handle it one way or another. It seems though that with the quick return attacks and even faster negative banter, the pirate board would be proud as it has birthed another bashing, flaming, and bickering child.

There, off my box now and back to work.

I agree and I know I can be annoying as Hell sometimes and I'm sorry. I mean no harm and didn't mean to threaten anyone, but I'm sick of being attacked. I'm just trying to get runs going and get people together most of the time with my posts. I know you guys don't need/want to know my life story and I'm sorry I've subjected you guys to that. But let's try to get it together and use the pm feature more often if we have something to say to another person rather than get others riled up and involved in the bashing. I have used pm alot more lately to limit my posts. Heah, I'm an Accountant and bored most of the time, so bear with me.

Thanks for having the guts to make this comment and start this thread Dan. I hope your rep doesn't get as bad as mine as a result of it. :laugh3:

I totally agree Dan. I am partly responsible for what you describe as I'm sure you know. We have tried being subtle, we've tried back channel, we've tried being polite. It takes alot to get the responses out of this board some have recieved. It's bothering us all. I'ld like it to stop too. I'm pretty much a newb here myself.

Unfortunately alot of "newbs" have found themselves in the middle of something else. Hopefully they know everyone is welcome here, no question is a bad question, and there are alot of people here willing to help with whatever is needed. People should also know that if you post information that you have no direct experience with or stray off topic over and over and over and.. well you get the picture...then you'll get called on it. I guess after getting called on it subtly or privately by 5 or six members of this board for months and months it starts to turn ugly. Hopefully we can just get back to talking about cherokees, local issues, and wheelin. :cheers:

As all organizations grow, these things happen. The more people you have, the more conflicting personalities come into the picture. Glad to see this come to light in its own post... this surely wont be the last of the personality conflicts... god knows most of you havent met me! I've only met brett and he thought so highly of me he ran to the midwest :laugh3:

I like Sierra Nevada. I will need that if you go to the Stockton Pick-n-Pull.

That's fine. If you get me talking Jeep then watch out, otherwise I'm a bit on the shy side believe it or not. I like to type I guess. I never had Sierra Nevada yet since I've been out in Cali. I've grown up on Miller since my grandma and wife/wife parents are Cheese Heads and lived around Milwaukee. Will this work? I've never been to the Stockton pnp yet. I will need a bunch of stuff if I get the xj I'm looking at tomorrow. I'm not going to bring it home tomorrow, but see if I want to trade my 89' xj for it. We'll see. Stockton's not that far from me, so I would like to go there regardless to check it out. You're 1 of the coolest guys on here Dan, or at least you're nice to me. :wave:
