All Things Guns

Well traded my hi point carbine for a complete lower, barrel, red dot, and a few other parts so I'm building another AR. Just ordered a stripped blem upper and bolt carrier group from PSA.

I've got some a couple spare bolts, one new and one used that I may be getting rid of if anyone is interested.

Nate got me a Harris bipod for Xmas.

The mosins look sweet in the archangel stock.

I am getting the parts together for this AR build. I thought the barrel seemed a little long so measured it and it's a 20 inch barrel with rifle gas system. Trading a guy soms spare parts I had for a new rifle length gas tube and a slightly used railed fore end that is not free float. Fine by me as this is just a low buck build. The only thing I do not have or ordered yet is a gas block. It unfortunately uses a .625 gas block so that really limits my options.

Heres a pic of the lower, it's a surplus ammo and arms lower, believe cmmg parts kit, and dmps buffer/stock

Thanks, feels so much better too and just being able to feed magazines in alone is a huge bonus. What round is your AR?

Ar will still be 5.56/.223. I doubt I will be keeping this one though. I have a buddy that is really interested in it already so he may end up with it.

My mom, dad and brother were kind enough to supply me with medication for my Black Rifle Disease.

Recent additions include real MBUS in black and an AIM red dot from dad, incoming lower from mom and incoming VLTOR EMOD clone from my brother for my birthday. Patrick also got me a pair of LULA loaders for pistol and AR mags.

The stock is coming at a great time. When I finished the trigger work I drop tested it to make sure it didn't fire. I found out first hand how jank the cheap stocks are. The whole pin for the length of pull adjustment has broken from the stock.

As soon as everything comes in and gets installed, I'll snap some pics and share.

Nice! I have a SIGTac sb15 and a carbine barrel on the way. Im cutting the barrel down to 11.5" and I just need to figure out what optic, how I can mount it as far forward as I want it and what color duracoat its getting. Hoping to have it done soon enough to break it in on a coyote or two. I should also be ordering my 30" 7mm blank for a long distance antelope gun. Its gonna be a good year for my safe!

So my EMOD clone came in. It is super comfortable and trick with the storage options. It's just like the VLTOR model without the company logos. I'm very happy with it.

Got my MBUS sights and holo boresighted, just have to get some rounds down range.

That AIM holo is not going to be permanent addition. The vertical sight adjustment screw has already stripped. I don't know if I'm going to pull it out and try to JB Weld the boss in or not. It's cheap, but hey, it was a Christmas present.

My Range Tool Co. lower came in today. $50 shipped is a pretty sweet deal and getting it from Mom is awesome. It's going to be the 6.8SPC lower. I hope to have it all done by November this year for firearm season. I'll get a pic of that when I pick it up from my FFL.

Very nice, dig the stock. Also what flash hider do you have on that?

The AR I just finished is actually up for sale as I am going to do a pistol build off of a Mag Tactical lower, which is a magnesium infused billet lower, and matched with either their upper if they ever make it to market or a voltor billet upper. It will eventually be an sbr.

In the past, I had put some consideration into getting a CCW. But in light of the shooting at the grocery store that is about 20 miles from my house, I am now revisiting the thought.

What all do I have to do to get a CCP? Ideally, I would like to carry all the time. 7AM to 11pm. In my line of work, no one is truly going to care if I have a weapon on me.

One issue is that I regularly carry around large items; in my arms, rest a box on my hip, and I use the front of my legs to help get boxes off the truck, etc. So I think a waist holster probably won't work, and I can't have one in my pocket either. I drive a lot too, and I would think that getting in and out would mess anything around my waist, front or behind. So pretty much my only option that won't interfere with my work is an ankle holster. Unless there is something that I may be forgetting.

What would be an appropriate choice for the gun? I don't need a hand cannon, just something small, but has stopping power if I ever needed it.

I've done some firing in my day, so I know what they are capable of, but I've never owned a gun before.

Well guess it all comes down to what feels good to you and what will work for you. I carry a xdm 9mm and Suzi Carries a Walther p22. So far we haven't had any problems with either of them. Both are carried with hip holsters as well.

It's sooooo easy to get a license in Imdiana pm Gene or flex those two can probably tell you quicker than me. Fill out forms pay and hget fingerprinted. I think it was $130 and a week later I had my lifetime carry license.

Must be nice to only take a week. Took us over 5 months to get ours

Anything bigger than a compact will feel uncomfortable on an ankle holster. I'd look into a LCR or LCP.

If you want something a touch bigger with more capacity, most of your 9mm carry guns on a 4 inch barrel fit well in a inside the waistband holster and it won't affect what you're carrying or holding. I like the single stack 9mm, like the wife's 709, but lots of folks need the reassurance of a double stack and 15 rounds.

I think next month will be the month I get my lifetime LTCH. Won't carry, but at least I will have it and won't have to keep ammo and guns separate when I go to the range.
