When you switch to the B&C, keep me in mind for that Hogue.
I've got the varmint stock on mine already. That was quite the upgrade from the youth stock. Especially since I did the BDL conversion. Actually, I'm not 100% that would use the Hogue stock on my current rifle. Maybe a .300WSM or .300 SA Ultra Mag. I need to compare ballistics of those two with .300WM for my all-encompasing North America rifle.
I was actually scared to do the knob myself. I should have tried though. It seems fairly straight forward. I just didn't feel like running the risk of needing a new bolt.Never realized how nice flip up scope caps were until I finally purchased some. Picked up some Butler Creek flip ups today for the Rem 700 and also ordered the bolt knob. Going to try my hand at threading the bolt myself...
Also thinking about polishing the bolt but haven't made up my mind yet.
Oh, damn!! Byron gets to use the business switch! And you know those iron sights will never let you down!
How do you like the length of pull on the A1 stock? Seems a touch short for my tastes.
What kind of idiot thought it would be alright to take out the auto components? I just don't get it. If it was built before 86, it's legal to own...why change it?! It sickens me.My business switch doesn't work, it has semi-auto guts. Our local gun shop can't get the right parts and the Sheriff said just to leave it semi. :bs:
Stock is alright, not the best though. As much as I would love to geek it out, it's not my rifle and no spare $ for it. I would like to get a different foregrip for it though, every time I pick it up I feel like I'm back in 'Nam.
Something internal was dicked up, hence the new BCG. Wish it had stayed full auto, but oh well. The likelyhood of ever using full auto on duty is very low.
I'm admittedly an AR noob, more of a shotgun and pistol guy.
So you can carry them but aren't issued? Well, it's YOUR weapon, you can write it off and get a LEO discount from a lot of companies.I'm an AR noob as well.
I are allowed to have them, pending a course we have to take locally. We just have to have our own.
mac 'only been in the last few years that we've been allowed to have them' gyvr
Picked up my M16A1 last night from the armorer. New BCG & charging handle, but otherwise original. Definitely not tacti-cool but it will get the job done![]()

A2 furniture is pretty easy to come by. Although, that's not really geeking it out. There are some really sweet rifle furniture sets out there.
I'd like to take a tactical carbine class.
I thought even if it was pre-ban, if you purchased it after '86, you had to have a class 3 stamp. Even if someone makes it semi-auto, the serial number classifies it as a machine gun.
