All Things Guns

What do you consider long range, not sure a 22 can even get to long range unless fired at a 45degree angle

100 yards or so. My range has a nice rifle range with sand berms every so often. I do want to get some kind of rifle for longer range also. I originally picked up this 10/22 for rimfire madness only.

I once heard it described as a 22LR at 300yds is like a 6.5-284 at 1000yds. I love shooting 100-300yds with my 22, its just most guys don't use high power magnification tactical scopes on their 22's, but some of us do.

I know a guy with multiple prarie dog kills around 300 yards with a ruger 22/45 pistol. The tricky thing is figure out what the 22 is gonna do when the bullet transitions from supersonic to subsonic.. it used to be the cheap way to shoot until bricks of ammo quadrupled in price :'(

Yeah, good thing my going away present from CCI was ammo, that and with two of my kids working there I might have to see if they can get me some to bring home when I go back to visit this summer.

New toy I got from my brother for my birthday/christmas/Kwanzaa

Just hope I don't loose it like I did with all my other guns...

...a boating accident :)

Such a reliable weapon. Too bad it will likely be found by a diver someday. I know how often you play with your guns when fishing.

Pretty much!

Lol!

Uh oh...

Finished the Maadi build. Turned out awesome.

I'm guessing the triggerer, scope and ammo had more of an effect on groups that the trigger. Squeeze, feel it release.

I'm a combat marksmanship instructor and a multiple USMC rifle expert. I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is. I don't need any lessons on trigger control. ;)

Ammo is huge, fmj's suck for repeatable accuracy, it's from the manufacturing process, since that's what most guys shoot with I suggested ammo. I'm sure I would not want to try to out shoot you in a combat environment, but I hope you aren't assuming I haven't pounded 1000's of rounds of bthp's down range, for accuracy, not for the fun of it. Take care. :shhh: And then there's that housefly I took out at 100yds, kept the target with the blood splatter as a trophy, that was a good day. PS, I think it was a head shot.

Watched a few stages of the state USPSA match today. One of the stages was "Bobs Country Bunker" and was in the woods. The path to get there was muddy thanks to days of rain and sadly at the end of the day, some one did fall break their leg in two places. That stage probably won't be ran tomorrow I bet.

Also bought six chances to win a custom Springfield XDM 9mm. Has a 17lb spring, texturing on the gun for grip, trigger job and some kind of custom mag release button. I guess it sells for 1200 normally.
