All Things Guns

Stopped at the LGS to see if they had any .22lr. They had a few boxes of CCI Blazers for $7 a box. I was gonna to get them since it was the first decent plinking stuff I have seen in months. The kid handed them to me and I turned them around on the counter. My son says, "Hey dad, they bought those from Farm and Fleet". I look at the end, and the F&F price tag is still on the boxes for $3.99 per. Last time I spend money in that store.

That's good business buy something cheap and sell it for what people are willing to pay.

Watched a few stages of the state USPSA match today. One of the stages was "Bobs Country Bunker" and was in the woods. The path to get there was muddy thanks to days of rain and sadly at the end of the day, some one did fall break their leg in two places. That stage probably won't be ran tomorrow I bet.

Also bought six chances to win a custom Springfield XDM 9mm. Has a 17lb spring, texturing on the gun for grip, trigger job and some kind of custom mag release button. I guess it sells for 1200 normally.

Man, that's like 6 bucks toward a lift kit you could have saved...

Who said anything about six bucks? Besides, whatever I spent on tickets goes right back to the club that rents the range that pays for work at the range I shoot at.

You won't have a lift by wf14 with that attitude! :D

Who said I was coming to WF14?

Sean Connery......

In other news. I'm gonna be ordering more AR parts soon now that the tard fest is calming down. The fail zero bolt carrier group looks pretty sweet.

Hey! Talk of lifts is not allowed in here unless it's a bolt lift. Let's keep it on topic with guns.

That would have been bad business then. I walked out without buying it. Profiteering might be legal.. its unethical and damn tacky. Now he lost a customer over it.

That's capitalism at its finest....really depends how bad you want to shoot.

My wife still loves me. She went to WalMart at 6:30 this morning and picked up 3 555 rd boxes of .22's.
Now I can go shooting again.party1:

Palmetto State Armory has blem BCG's on sale for $99 right now.....and now they have one less! :D Build time is nearing!

I did a little youtube research. They can be made for so much cheaper.

I figure an old scope mount bottom half, a little bit of steel, a bolt and some nuts. Toss on a little paint. Bingo, bango.

Rory, with your work in the field, have you gotten into casting bullets at all?

I'm gathering all the necessary components and I'm fairly close to dropping boolits soon.

Or anybody else for that matter... I'm trying to figure out if my .40 and 9mm need to have gas checks and what all I will need to resize. Looks like the Lee sizing dies come with a bottle of Alox and the die, but no mention of a bullet ram.

I haven't done it but I picked up a little from some of the guys there that did. Keeping the velocity down is very very important, as well as lube. Most of the guys I know didn't cast for semi-auto rounds. I wish I knew more but I did rifle bullets 99% of the time. You might want to check into this a little more, hate to see you ruin a gun or yourself.
