All Things Guns

I know that story!! Gun build plans are subject to change just as Jeep build plans.

Bought another AK parts kit. Unmatched # Egyption Maadi. $200 with Arabic writing.

Going for a more traditional build with this one

Emailed Spike's today on my lower. Originally ordered 8/21/12 with a 4-8mo backorder. They had made mention after panic purchases started flowing that their lead time had gone to 8-12mo and all orders placed prior to a date near the beginning of the year would not be effected.

Low and behold, my order placed more than 9mo ago has been extended into the 8-12mo lead time.

Kicking stones now. Bummed out. Not that it will be getting all the parts I'm planning on any time soon, but it would be nice just to have it.

Are you set on a spikes lower? A guy I work with has been constantly building ar's through the last few months. I might be able to pick a lower up off of him before that. I go through green bay a few times durring the summer too...

I know the guy that make most if not all Spikes lowers and he's been running 24/7 for years. He has one heck of a shop setup, I could tell you more but then .......................... ya. :D

This guy in S.WI? I know a guy there too just started building them. Almost makes me want to tool up my CNC for AR parts, almost.

Yeah I know a lot of gun industry guys, remember 22yrs I was part of that.

I'm open to other lowers, but I've already paid Spike's and they're doing the Punisher logo on the mag well. Other than this particular lower, I'll build another without caring what's on the mag well. But please, let me know what kind of numbers he's looking at. I might be able to convince some people around here to buy from him. My buddy Paul is seriously considering an AR. If I convince him to build instead of buy.......

Yes, they are busy as all hell. I know I'm getting quality and the cost was slightly above the market low. Their customer service is also very prompt. Even though it's taking a while, I'm happy with their company.

FWIW, Palmetto has some lowers in stock at pre-panic pricing. (At least they did yesterday.)

Okay this is going to be pointed more towards the indiana people but everybody can answer. Just got our handgun permits in the mail the other day and have a question about them. No where on them does it say they are a concealed carry weapons permit. When i am carrying my handgun in indiana, does it always have to be hidden or what are the rules towards that? Have looked online a little bit and just haven't found a definate answer yet. Don't know if they have to be hidden or if its legal to have the handgun visible when its in my holster.

i remember reading that its open or concealed, but since i don't have it i shouldn't be the voice to go by here. maybe flexy can chime in...

This.

An Indiana permit allows you to concealed carry or open carry. That's why it's called a "handgun permit" instead of CCW.

Cool. Thanks. Just wanted to make sure before i go and open carry and get in trouble for it.

All open carry does is Freek people out, it shouldn't but does.

And people can ask you to leave their establishment if they know you are carrying and you must do so.

Went to Ruger's website and much to my surprise, they have BX 25 magazines in stock!

I bought my "blemished" lower from JSE in November for $80. The mag wells were machines too tight. They must have had a couple bad ones in the whole lot because mine fits gi mags and magpul mags just fine.

AR's are like Legos. You're crazy for waiting for a year for a lower from a specific manufacturer.

I understand your crazy, I just wouldn't wait like you are ;)

With the original lead date of 4-8mo, I wasn't that concerned.

If I knew, I probably wouldn't have gone that route. Idk. Maybe I would have.

I really wanted the Punisher logo on the mag well.

I'm fairly certain any lower I order from here on out will be from someone with them in stock. Or the unfinished lowers I've been seeing on armslist.

I wish I could find some .40 and .303 (and didnt have to sell my left nut to buy it). I want to take these out.

At least shotgun shells are still cheap... Wax slugs FTW.
