Here are a couple of Tutorials for making a Homemade Fabricated Heat Shield for a Cold Air Intake. Not Jeeps but the idea is there.

Alot of good info but still does not help me make my mind up on what I want to do. I have been running the a rustys style tube but the filter is always getting dirty and is hot as hell no heatshield. So i tried switching back to my stock box with high pro filter and some added holes on the fender side but it feels like I lost some power and the box still feels as hot as the cone.

I thought maybe if I seal the box and run some flex tubing up to the hood and put a little scoop that at speed should push cooler air into the box. has any body tried this I know it is similar to the cowl mod but the little scoop might push more air in.

If i want to switch to air tube setup i could the jut run the tube into the heat shield If i could make one that looks better then my previous tries.
