AC thermostat/evap switch

On an 89, the Renix manual calls it the evaporator switch and the FSM wiring diagram calls it the thermostat switch. Where is it, and is it a variable thermostat type thing or just something to detect evaporator freezing?

its pushed into the evap cae on the passenger side just behind the knee bolster. it helps evap freeze up and it can be adjusted for a colder output. if you look at it you can see how it shows which direction to turn the adjusters.
