How does this thing work? I'm trying to get it to kick on but with no luck. It would be nice to get it solved b4 the crawl..... Is it an electric magnet or something like that. Any and all details would be appreciated.

It is an electric solenoid. You put 12v on it and it should energize. If jumpering 12v causes it to click, you probabably are low on freon. There is an under pressure switch that will prevent engergizing it automatically if the freon is low.

None of that is hooked up It is just the compressor for OBA. So I have a hot wire and a ground wire I think. I cut the connector off and put one on each wire.
