A Suggestion

This is an idea I've had for a bit that I would like to see done after we've got this whole admin team gig running.

I'd like to see a subform created here with only admin access and then all of these posts moved there. Then change the permissions here to include all BOD and chapter presidents. Then this place could be the support ticket place for those folks when they need forums created, permissions tweaked, etc. That way we can treat it like the user support forum (acting admin who does the work closes the thread up, taht way we know it's done).

I think that'll work MUCH better than the thread in BOD.

So... What'chu all think?

Uh..... kind of the way this forum is already set up. The intent was for this to be more for admin communication, the BoD should have access just 'cuz the BoD should be able to read all forums.

I can't read the BoD forum, nor should I be, as a general rule. Long term, I should probably be backup forum admin, so I should end up with the admin privs. But I really don't want to have to go into the BoD forum for a task request thread.

I agree with what G is getting at... there exists a running thread on the BOD forum, where the Board pokes sharp sticks at Glenn and I to 'do things.'

It's fairly confusing as all hell, mainly 'cause it's like three or four pages long now, and the multiple topics jump around some (some are relevant to ongoing projects, others are tasks already completed and a confirmation of such.) Keeping topics isolated should be a lot easier to navigate.

Since SeanR and Scrappy both have access here, I don't see why they couldn't just (make a new) post up here when they need something done? That way we have ONE thread per specific tasking, and whoever fields & fixes it can close the thread when it's completed. I have taken to fluffing my confirmations with a time/date after I do something, since the forum defaults to a mostly-useless 'generic' date after 24 hours or so. I'm sure the logs can show exactly when who posts what, but (for me) its just as quick to poke out a line like: 0843 EST 5 July 07 so everyone can easily see it within my post.

Good thinkin' there G! :)

I think we could manage that... I will clean up that BOD thread and notify the gang about this. Sean or I will transfer info to this forum as needed.

Thanks again guys.
