Recently bought this vehicle it's at 5k miles it's used dealer said they serviced before sale oil looked new day I bought it . The issue is that even with a 6 point socket it wouldn't budge and with a cheater I just ended up rounding all 6 points then rounding a bit more with vise grips. I don't know if it's just super tight or cross threaded so I'm not sure that it I break it loose it's going to end well anyway . I have extractors but none that fit a 13 and none that fit it rounded now...LoL...So now the question is can the plastic/composite oil pan surrounding that plug insert handle the heat generated from welding a nut to the nipple ? Off hand I'd think there should be enough heat pulled out from the oil on the other side but that's a theory ;-) ... I'd think the MiG welding heat should also help loosen it if this were steel if already had MiG welded it since it's also easily fixed unlike the plastic garbage. I have ordered a fumoto drain plug and a pneumatic oil extractor to pull from the dipstick tube ...I'm thinking oil changes could just be done this way forever vs possibly ending up having to pull the pan which on this vehicle is BS it's not easy like the XJ...

Have you tried a pipe wrench? The only issue I see with welding is a ground and space/room.

Yeah not much to bite I figured a large 3/4 nut held in my clamp over the nipple and other hand holding the torch should do it for connected. Probably going to vac it out this weekends oil change install my new awe exhaust enjoy the drive until next long weekend and have a new pan on hand in case things end poorly ;-)

Was about to weld a nut on but decided to cold chisel it and see . Hit it for a few minutes progressively giving less of a shit and then I noticed the chisel mark had moved so hit it a few more and it let loose . This was a good thing because the hemi appears to have something in the oil dipstick tube that prevents a hose from going all the way into the pan so that was a waste of $60 as you can't get there from here. The washer was split and may have been what was holding up the plug plus I'm certain is impact tight . Put on the new fumoto drain valve which was purchased in hopes the pan wasn't coming off . After that started another project which was more fun with stuck fasteners as I started pulling the factory exhaust to install a car back with 5 inch tips ...lol ..decided I do that in the driveway and the last suitcase muffler flange spun the stud and since outside I can't use the cutting wheels due to fire ban and my only sawzall blaze was dull as shit so it now becomes a Sunday project...at least the exhaust has a payoff for the hassle
