98XJ: Project Salsa

I can't wait to spot your leaf spring shackles into a boulder at rocktoberfest and watch your deavers bend.

the idle is way smoother now, so is the power. some people say the 99 intake does nothing but after adding it to two different jeeps i can feel the same additional power through the middle of the rpm range. the thor intake is LOUD... like intake in the cabin loud, but its only under load and not cruising so i can deal with it. the bracket is a PITA and the filter is manically large... not sure if i'd recommend it but whatever, its what i needed to get the winch solenoid where the intake is from the factory. exhaust note under WOT is gnarly.. she growls now with the header singing into the flowmaster 50 series i'm running. the passenger side engine bracket fought me through every bolt, i broke the top alternator bolt, broke all the wiring off of the coil...

runs nice and cool no more leaking coolant, and have plenty of room between the fan and the radiator now unlike before. theres def more vibes with the poly motor mounts and poly trans mount but its nothing intolerable.. and i can just shift into neutral and they go away sitting at stoplights.

next on the list is front tubework, winch, limit straps, additional bumpstoppage, some wiring here and there for lights and the OHC... whatever i have time to get done. jeep is wheelable as-is for rocktoberfest so i'm not gonna kill myself.

Not sure if you ever had the BD mount destructions, but they say to back the nut off the MM's about 90 deg to see if the vibes change.

They're loose already, as per instructions. Vibes are the same as the mounts in my old XJ. It's not bad at all really.

thats damn nice with the pipe welded in, fit & finish is well executed.

Thanks but I can't take credit for it, my buddy had that idea. Came out perfect.

like 3 weekends ago i started to get my winch mounted, got it all ready to bolt up and stopped bc i didnt want to wire anything bc i do that all day at work and didnt feel like doing it. that and i didnt have enough wire thick enough. but whatevs, its getting there.

so i started wiring my fogs to my switch panel thing i bought from prime 4x4 months ago and did it ghetto and on of my splices broke so i wanted to actually make it nice like how i had my aux fuse panel in my old jeep. i bought the same fuse panel from advance and started laying stuff out and didnt like it so i did some googling and found out a lot of yota dudes use this blue sea marine one so i bought it and wired up my jams. sorry all the pics look like they were taken with a potato. also, dont mind the ghetto positive battery terminal, i have to get a real one.
