Those are some wide tires for an XJ... might want to go with 12.50's IMHO. You will have to run 10" wide wheels and that will prob cause the front to hit the rear part of the wheel well. Go with just the BW's and the 12.50's on 8" wheels with 3.25-3.75" backspacing...

I'm actually wanting 10" wheels... Wider tires will protect the side of the body a little more... If they rub... I'll adjust the lift to barely clear.... I was just wondering if anyone has ever seen it done..... thanks for the reply...

works for me then!!!

That's why I was asking....

You may or may not need the spacer depending on how much you cut for the bushwackers. I'm running 35's on 6" of lift with TJ Flares and have plenty of room.

I'd recomend against the SSRs. The sidewalls are extremely weak. There are a few of us up here running them and we cut at least one everytime we go out.

Here's what happened to mine on a rotten log:

Thanks... Maybe I'll re-think the SSR's.....

I run 32x12.50 Swamper SSX's (which are more like 33x12.50) on 4" of lift and with the trimming I am going to do I will have no rubbing. Do a search on the forum there is a guy who is running 36's on 4" lift on a 2 door with ALOT of trimming, it just depends on how much you want to whack away on you junk.

here are some pics of mine...

i ran 3' of lift with 31x13.50 bfg's, and they rubbed like hell when flexing. as much as i liek the low/wide look, my guess is that i would have needed 4.5" to amke it work. btw, this was on 10" rims with 4"bs. my best guess is you'll need about 6" with the flares to run a tire that wide. g'luck

I would think that 31's with 3 feet of lift wouldn't ever touch the body :). I run 31's right now on 3.5" of lift with no rubbing at all. I just recently cut the fronts and raised the flares, still have to do the rears. I'm getting ready for 285's or 32's, I'm still going back and forth on that one.

the 14.5 may be a little much but a 1.5 spacer should take care of it. the BW flairs are so wide that a wider tires is a good idea since every XJ with those flairs I've seen with normal 12.5 trise either 33 or 35 looks kinda funny. ya they may rub a little but iwould be at extreme flex and lets face it its realy not an issue except for braging right or something. Rubbin is part of wheeling weht its on wheel wells or trees its all part of the game.

This is exactly the look and setup I'm goin for.... 3.5" RE and 2" spacer... I'm also concidering the ACOS adjustible spacer... Just in case....
