90 MJ for parts

jeebus, it's like you guys came out of the woodwork with d35's!
I'll have to sit down and figure out what the hell I want to do. The 8.8 is calling my name, but I don't think I'm going to go bigger than 31's or 32's any time soon. I could take the money I would spend on the 8.8 and be most of the way towards fixing everything on the truck, or starting my stoker project. Of ourse if I build a stroker I'll NEED an 8.8, I'm sure the turdy five wouldn't take it.
AHHHHHHH! It's enough to drive me batty. Only so much truck money and so much I want to do.

Well, the 30/35 won't cost you hardly anything, and you'll be good enough to wheel on any size tire for awhile as long as you stay off the stupid pedal. As far as setting up spring perches, we could do that at an install party.

Then you can do the stroker as a long term project, and upgrade axles then. Heck, I also have a early Bronco D44 front axle and Scout II rear axle that would be nice to swap in whenever you are ready, and you could make back your investment in the D30/35.

so where do I drive for the install party :)

How soon do you wanna do this? I'm in the market for a better welder, but my garage is on its way to being clean enough to work in. Oh, and I am picking up a ProTools bender today, found it on Craig's List.

holy crap, I just Google mapped Wentzvill and you're 10 hours away from me. Gonna take some planning.

Did you see anyone on Google Earth?

Make a weekend out of it. Or make friends with a welder near you. Gotta figure though that both 4.56 axles are coming from Illinois within 2 hours of my house, and noone else has volunteered yet.

I'll tell you what I'd do.. I'd go ahead and do the 8.8. If you go the 35 route and spend alot of money into building it you'll be aggrevated that you spent that money on the 35. If you just go ahead and do the 8.8 you'll most likely be done with upgrading the rear. Unless you wanna throw different gears or a locker in it. Thats just my opinion..

Egg

ive got a c-clip Dana 35 with 3.07's and a fawked up backing plate in CA - FREE!!!!!! :D

everyone else is offering their junk..

yeah I'll have to see about the logistics.
You coming to the badlands in May?
I think Sean was talking may 13. If so then that would be the time I suppose.
Wrenchfest in the Attica hotel parking lot baby.

I think indyjeepnut has a 44 out of an mj, just bolt it right in, I am pretty sure it has 3.55s, you could bring him his stuff and take home the axle.

I wasn't planning on going to Attica then. How are we gonna precisely set up spring perches and weld them in a parking lot?

precision sucks, booty fab is great!
Anyway, I asked the wife if she wanted to go to MO tonight. She said she'd like to go to St. Louis, I told her that wasn't exactly where I was planning on going.
Anyway. How far are you from St. Louis. I could talk her into it if we took a day to go there.
I was thinking of taking a friday off, drivig down there, wrenching on sat, maybe part of sunday, going to st louis and then driving home on Mon.
If it's something you think we could get done in a day then I'm game.
Might as well install the lift while we got the axles out. No sense in half assing it.

Mark is very close to the Lou.
If fact, I gonna guess from Wentzville to the Arch........45in tops.
Sounds like you gotta plan.

Depending on the scale of the map, that's about right.

We could show you around the nice part of the city.

Contact Prepmech about the 4.56 D30.

It was late.
I was tired.

So Nate, what route are you going for sure?

I've not yet decided. I think we'll definitely make a trip out. Prolly late this month or next month. I may come down there instead of going to the badlands. I could still drop Andy's junk off on the way.
This thread got confusing. I gotta figure out who has what and get prices from everyone. I don't think I want to go a deep as 4.56. I think 3.73 or 4.10 is where I want to be, with 4.10 preferred.
Of course, I got a PM on the comanche bpoard about a yard selling 8.8's for $100, so that may happen.
I know, I'm a freakin woman. I'll figure it out this weekend.

It is probably in the post some where, but what size tires are you planning to run? I ran 4.56's with 31's & it was great, but I have an auto. JIM.

31's are the plan right now.
Maybe 32x9.5's in the future.
I've got a stick, so my OD ratio isn't as deep. I've been living with 3.07's and didn't think it was that bad on the trail. The only time I had problems at WF was that hill on White, when I got denied because I was in too high a gear.
