The pictures do the talking. Maeve did great on her first drive ever! Very proud.

This is her new-to-her '99 XJ 2-door. It has some quirks that we'll have to address (mostly little annoyances like window regulator issues, etc.), but runs very nicely, and is pretty solid. 114K miles on the vehicle, and the previous owner has owned it for over 10 years (since it had 2K miles on the ticker).

You can by the photos that Maeve approves of her new rig.

She even let big sis Mira drive (Mira's XJ build thread is HERE). Mira's an ol' pro at age 12 (almost).

AWESOME Craig!!! I love that you do this with your kids!! With the HUGE amount of deadbeat parents out there it is good to see there is people like you out there. I have full intentions to do the same exact thing with my boy and unborn children when they hit that age. And the social impact it has on them, I'll never forget Mira's excitement showing me her rig and all the parts I "should" buy lol

Have you insured a 4 door and 2 door yet? I was amazed at the difference in insurance between my 2 door and my wife's 4. Almost $400 a year and the 4 door is 4 years newer.

Thanks Kelsey. I used to drive a 2-door '99, but haven't specifically compared it against a 4-door. We have a few years before that'll be a consideration. :)

Pretty cool, I learned todrive at about that age in my grandfathers stickshift MJ
