8.8 update

I am jealous, I am at the same stage but mine started with about 1000 times more rust.

Post up what yours looks like now!

So the wrenchfest at Eric's (trailratethis) house got a lot done. The 8.8 is now a part of my xj.

Here is mine now, do you have a better pic of how you ran your brake lines?
The ford ones were toast I am going to bend some new ones up.
I am thinking about going across the top and either notching the spring perches and run them through or get longer softlines and have them just over the spring packs.
At least the rust is gone. On a side note, I had too many beers and installed my shafts and locker without oil seals! Got to start over now.

That's awesome. How do you clean it? Waterhose?

Usually an industrial sized push broom. Also a vacuum cleaner. Don't own a squeegie so the waterhose wouldn't be a good idea. I usually work on the jeep outside of the garage.

ah. i guess it would work. in any case... there's really no need to clean it with water. here's some pics of the brake lines.

I got the lines from napa. They were $10. They were a little too long so I had to bend the lines over the axle. They've been working great so far. They came green originally so I painted them metallic. And... whats great is you don't even have to use a bender. Just use your hands.

p.s. The soft lines are currie enterprises. They came with brackets that were welded on to the axle under the perches and one single clip holds the soft line to the bracket.
