I have a 7.1 Receiver, a Sony DA4ES, but only use it for 5.1. I don't have an optimal room to begin with. The accostics are bad and I have too many doors and windows that are in the way. Have any movies come out with 7.1 coding yet? When they do, I will start thinking about going 7.1, but I will replace my speakers at that point.
I will never buy Onkyo again. I have had two receivers take a dump on me, the first was a 575 and the second was a 600. I had an old POS $170 Sony that I gave to a buddy, and it still works fine.
