Z28's were first produced in 1967. 602 were produced that year.

The Z28 was a production code offered first in 1967 and on through the years. the 67's are the most desirable because so few were made. I personally like the 69's only because I have a 69 regular coupe. if you ever find a first generation Z28(67-69) that is in originaly shape - BUY IT!!

Any more questions, ask away

COPO =
central office production order - from what my memory can recall( and it ain't very good)
I think this was like a special production run i.e. the 427 engine, though I could be wrong on this.

Let me look some stuff up and get back to ya

The COPO came about because Yenko couldn't fill all the orders for 427cid Camaros. Onetallmj was right about the acronym. Yenkos are more colletable, unless you are Reggie Jackson. At the last Barrett/Jackson auction, Reggie went back home with almost all his Yenkos and COPOs becuase he was asking WAY too much $$. IIRC he brought 5 and took 4 home. The starting price he was asking was in the neighborhood of 140K-160K a piece.

Not a Yenko, but a '68 SS nonetheless.

Dad doesn't care for Jeeps, but he likes his muscle cars!

He doesn't ever drive it tho, he says it's his most stable investment :D
I had a '69 SS as my first car back in '79. I'm still kicking myself for selling it.

It's amazing how that works. The cars of today just don't hold the same value, and I'm not talking about just money either. My 'first car' was a damn Ford Escort :D Dad is always saying the same thing.... Says he'd be ritch if he had kept all his earlier cars.
