6.0 LS Swap

Looks great. I envy that kind of power in my jeep.
 
JeremyB How much trouble was it for You to get the Jeep's PCM plugs apart without breaking them? I'm having a hell of a time stripping the unneeded wires from My harness.

You have found the worst part of the swap! I am laughing so hard at the memories right now! That part just plain sucks. The only way I found is to bend the crap out of the harness to break the loom and tape apart from the wires then use a pick and razor blade to pull them apart. The worst will be the injector harness and the boots at the fire wall. The injector and coolant temp wires will be melted together, you will have too replace the wires there.
 
That's a good idea. Not the tug but the race, can't afford to replace the 8.25 just yet. I will try and get some videos sometime this week. Anyone wanna race? ;)
 
Hmmm just read all of this, interesting and some bad ass work. Learned a lot, will be changing my build around some and are you taking on work such as modifying LS harnesses for other members?

Got out today to play around a little with it. Here is my first 0-60 run. Didn't get a good start due to watching the camera, the video is 7 or so seconds 0-60. Its tricky getting a good launch due to wheel spin but I made 2 more after the video and my best was 6.1 according to my data logger. Not too bad I must say. Stock 4.0 is around 9 if Im not mistaking. The truck is running a little rich, Im thinking about getting the HP Tuners software and a tweaking the tune.

Right now I'm focusing on the hood. Then chassis stiffeners front to back. I am still trying to figure the axles and lift. I'm not going to use this one for a hard core wheeler, more of a DD, some trails, but mainly to tow my main trail rig. I definitely want to do something trick for the axles. Once I figure out the axles then I will know what size lift and tires. I know I don't want anything bigger than 35s. Right now I'm leaning towards making some 14 bolts ft and rear. I will build a cage inside, no EXO on this one. As for the 6.0 I don't need anymore power. But I know me. I know if I find a set of heads and a cam I would put it on.

Z06 cam and a pair of L92 heads would do the trick, for a lower priced upgrade.
